Yes

There are a bunch more I like but these I love....

How could Snow Patrol be one of the worst bands in the world they are brilliant
I just can't stand them. Trite and bland, and annoying -- but that's just my opinion. I know I'm into music a lot of other people don't like. One of my favorite artists is Tom Waits: a few years ago at Christmas my dad bought my sister and I each a Tom Waits album (she loves him too). My grandmother looked at them and asked, "Tom Waits...is that music?" To which my sister aptly replied, "That depends on who you ask!"

:)

Oh yeah I forgot Queen, the Kaiser Chiefs, Blind Guardian, Depeche Mode and Duran Duran. I love eighties music. My mum used to play Depeche Mode and Duran Duran to me when I was little.

Duran Duran is a vastly underrated band...and they are still producing interesting music.

Really? I only really know the eighties stuff... my mother was a huge fan of theirs and kept playing their stuff to me when I was a child. I love it.

To CommanderRaytas --

Yep, Duran just did an album with Justin Timberlake and Timbaland a couple of years ago and are in the studio now working on an album with Mark Ronson that is supposed to be more like their Rio album...

Franz Ferdinand
Muse
The Beatles (and especially their solo projects)
The Traveling Wilburys

To be honest, you'd be better off asking me if there was a band I didn't like.... ;)

They sound great mashed up with another band I like... The Police:

Older stuff I like:
Pink Floyd
Genesis
Led Zeppelin
Rush
Black Sabbath
The Who
Supertramp

Less older stuff:
Iron Maiden
Metallica
U2
Pearl Jam
AC/DC

More "current" stuff:
Tool
System of a Down
Linkin Park

That's not an exclusive list but just what I can thing of in a minute.

The following bands move me:

Soilwork
Disarmonia Mundis
Scar Symmetry
Dark Tranquility
In Flames (Old Stuff)
Still Remains (RIP)
Samael
Rotting Chr*st
KSE
Vital Remains
Obituary

I forgot In Flames - one of my favourite metal bands for many years now. I don't mind a lot of the newer stuff but there's no denying they're gone way, way downhill since 2004 (I love that any given fan will say the slide began in any year between 1997 and 2008 though haha). Dead End, Sleepless Again and Tilt are great songs from the dry years.
