What are your opinions regarding Star Trek that are, shall we say, unorthodox?

And the event itself could have had so many interesting possibilities, but it was impacted by why it actually happened. I will also say there were some interesting ideas presented in Starfleet Academy that were not fully realized well.

Much like the Spore Drive, it was much too big concept sci-fi than the current writers could bring to life.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Burn.
I thought it was a very TOS goofy concept, touching execution (kid sees Mum die, like if that doesn't justify an epic meltdown nothing does) and fitted great into Star Trek. And then him living on a broken holodeck for a century? Awesome visuals in that one.

Also in a meta sense, the fans crying about Star Trek burnt up the whole fleet:lol:

Holy shit, it works suspiciously well. It's nearly in perfect sync with the music, only off in places by half a measure.

I'm half-wondering if the producers used Where My Heart Will Take Me as temp music when putting together the SNW title sequence...
Nah, you can mix and match lots of TV themes with the opening visuals of other shows pretty easily. It's a cottage industry on YouTube.

SNW and ENT are both mainly scenic montages. Frankly, I don't think "Faith" swaps into SNW very well at all - the visual energy of the newer sequence is much more energetic.

I was really only speaking to how the cutting matches to the beats and transitions in the song.

Conversely I'll maintain that Interstellar Enterprise is the best thing since Dark Side of the Rainbow
... even if I made the video myself.

TOS s2 original mix.
I dig TAS, though.
I like DS9, but the later orchestration is better.
LDS is alright.

With TNG, I could never get over it being a splice of two other themes.
I don't mind the TNG arrangement, but it feels off to me because it started as film score with a 100 piece orchestra and the recording for TNG uses such a smaller ensemble. I much prefer the film versions of that theme. My two favorite variations, actually, are the very first studio recording of the theme for TMP which was never released or used but is now on YouTube, and the closing credits version from TFF titled "Life Is A Dream."

I don't kown if this is common but I view Picard as having 2 season with what is called season 3 really being TNG season 8 since the change from the Picard supporting cast to TNG Cast

The TNG score is a lot of fun and peppy and I've always liked it, but the original TMP score is the apex of Star Trek movie orchestration, and along with the original TOS theme by Alexander Courage one of the two greatest pieces of Trek music.
