What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

Does a fish notice the water? No.

We are all so used to 'convention' do we notice the level of self control?

Not unless someone is driving us up the wall...

Parents primary job is enculturization. That, the teaching of how to behave in society. Despite Star Trek's emphasis on Vulcan self control, humans are expected to behave at all times...

Trip Tucker is, however an exception. And he was from the Bible belt...

What can a slave master expect from a slave freeing themselves?

What does a slave master deserve?

History records the answer.

There is a reason why Spartus is remembered, and not just for dying in the typical Roman methodology.

Then you can have two examples from Science Fiction. Battlestar Galactica, and the Orville.

Now remember what the Zelots wanted.

The oppressed can get quite violent.

Florida is not part of the Bible belt. It's not really part of The South either. Florida is kind of it's own thing.
According to Google, northern parts of Florida are considered part of the Bible Belt. Trip is from Panama City, which is in northern Florida, though I'm not sure if it is in the region that Google considers to be Bible Belt.

And because I Googled the Bible Belt, my search algorithm is now leaning towards Biblical related content.

I disagree with Google. The Bible belt is basically Texas,Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska. Possibly Missouri. It also just happens to be Tornado Alley. If you look at a map you can see Florida is actually America's penis. Just dangling down their at the bottom.

Definitely Missouri.

Fish have an entire organ dedicated to sensing the water around them, changes in current, vibrations through it. It's called the lateral line. they notice the water in ways we can't comprehend. a REAL fish expert would have known that.

and you call yourself an ichthyologist!
Would Dr. Gillian Taylor (you can call her Gillian) have known that, though?

I am aware of the lateral line. Furthermore, it is apparent that you do not understand the difference between a metaphor and reality.

And no, the lateral line doesn't count.

A fish may know how many enemies are around, but the lateral line isn't the fish's brain.

By the way...fish don't speak English. Maybe Klingonaase. I don't know I haven't interviewed a fish recently. Something about them not speaking English...
