Klingon uniforms may actually have been better uniforms in TOS, TAS and later "Trials and Tribbleations(DS9)." The armor that became almost ubiquitous starting with TMP is just that. Armor. Not so much a good idea for a uniform. Though the belts on the TMP Klingons forward and their boots were a lot better looking.

A very underrated movie. Basically the same concept as TNG: "Peak Performance" only without the silly Ferengi subplot. A concept Trek should absolutely revisit and play out for real.

I never considered kelsey grammer a teen idol or TNG's cause and effect a top script but my daughter asked me to record it and her and her friends wore out the VCR out just because kelsey grammer from Cheers had a few seconds in the episode..
Probably just a valley girl thing and CBS/Paramount overlooked it.
Let not also forget that Roddenberry was the first to abandon his creations if he thought it could be done better. He didn't give two shits about visual continuity and "canon" was whatever he felt like at the moment.
The whole "we're keeping to Gene's vision" thing was something the Berman team liked to spout to keep fans placated and justify what they were doing.
If I was Gene in the mid1960's and actually created a series that ran 2 seasons, not to mention 3 I'd be onto my next thing as well.
It's just the way programming worked with 3 major networks back then.
I doubt anyone was expecting the outcry (whimper) to continue Star Trek past season 3 because Studios generally are out of touch with the audience and more in tune with sponsors.
If Kirk and Spock could have only discussed the New Gillette 14 Blue Razor vs dad's old straight Razor right in the middle of a Klingon Battle Gene may have stayed interested a bit longer.

Crossfield In its 23rd and 32nd century configurations is the most beautiful Starfleet ship ever devised.
Most beautiful Starfleet ships are the Constitution refit, Galaxy and Excelsior. Those TOS movie era designers raised the bar too high.

I didn't realize that there was a first time that Rob Schneider was ever funny.
Rob Schneider has been funny exactly two times:

I found him funny three times: IN Surf Ninjas, in Home Alone 2 and in Down Periscope.
Well. TMP Enterprise beats it. But it's a comfortable second.
