What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

I liked the white polo shirt tops they had in TMP. Kirks Admirals uniform was great too.

The rest...burn them

They did look pretty comfy tho. I imagine the ship's thermostat was either turned way down by Wrath of Khan or the crew spent the later movies sweating in those heavy red jackets.

Starfleet definitely stressed its officers having junk in their trunks.

That's fashion for ya, who knows what people might be wearing in 40 years. TMP takes place much more in the future.
Heck, people wear their pyjamas to the shops NOW. If such casual trends continue, who knows what uniforms of the future will be like?

By the 22nd century real-life space service uniforms will be Snuggies with pullover boots.

I just hope SNW has Spocko in it.

In terms of practicality, the Enterprise uniforms beat all. Pockets, rugged construction, and alternate color scheme for hot weather. By contrast, given Vulcan fashion, T'Pol's uniform configuration made no sense. Her outfit should have consisted of something similar to the loose robes most Vulcans wore.

Yeah, T'Pol's Vulcan uniforms made almost no sense but at least they were given the surface attempt at an alien uniform with the Vulcan insignia on her collar and the like. But then Berman and Braga couldn't have made her the "Seven" of the new Prequel series if Jolene had spent four seasons wearing loose, flowing Vulcan robes.

Are we sure that Micheal is in fact "female?"

Perhaps Micheal has a double X chromosome, and early on her life identified as a woman, while possessing a fully functional penis.

This would explain her parents naming her Micheal.

Congratulations - you have managed to contribute the most unnecessarily literal, tortured, wrongheaded, unlikely and gratuitously insulting explanation for someone's name that is likely to be offered on this or any other discussion on the subject of a Trek character. That's quite a trick, even for TrekBBS.

And you misspelled "Michael," one of the most common names in the English language. Three times.
