What are you watching???

Just finished watching Helix and The Big Bang Theory.

Still not entirely sure if I like Helix. The jury is still out.
the second season of helix was soooo different from the first one, and i'm really not sure where they were going to take it all. i think the jury will be out forever, because without more seasons, i don't think it is remotely able to be judged. bizarre show.

The series I've been watching lately is The X-Files. Just finished Season 2 and started Season 3 tonight.

i've been watching season 2. i just finished the satanic cult vs demon witch buffy-esque episode. The early seasons were so incredibly interesting.
it pretty much launched every genre i've watched since..... the profiler, fringe, supernatural, criminal minds, etc.... so many genre's from just one. its going to take me a long time to catch up, since i only watch 1 a week . i've watched through season 5 in the past, but it was 10 years ago and i forgot most of it.

i also just learned yesterday that the movie Final Destination began life as an X Files script, and was directed by morgan and wong. . The script is a pretty interesting read.

watching Easter Bloody Easter on Tubi right now tonight. and binging through the 1990 season of Saturday Night Live on peacock. from 1989 onward there sure were alot of John Goodman and Tom Hanks appearances

on a regular basis i am watching The Rookie, NCIS origins, The Irregular, Matlock reboot, Tracker and sometimes mocking High Potenial.

I am also watching Quantum Leap, Tru Calling, Buffy, Angel, NYPD Blue, Moonlighting, LA Law and the X Files. i alternate some of them with The Profiler, Sliders, Homcide, and Suits. when i'm not in the mood to pay much attention, i have a cipher of junk tv consisting of cycling thru contemporary seasons of csi, law and order, ncis and their ilk.

i watch about 3 shows after work every day (5am-8am) so there is usually 1 modern show, 1 scheduled-to-a-day older show, and the junk tv cipher.

yes i'm weird.

I watched the Springer documentary on Netflix this weekend. It was as mindless as one might expect but it killed 90 minutes.

Probably the most "revelatory" thing about it for me was that one main producers interviewed (the heavyset guy in the trailer who says this is the last time he'll ever talk about the show again) is the son of the SNL prop manager who sometimes played Sulu in the Star Trek parodies.

Finally watched the Severance S2 premiere last night! So glad that show is back.

I appreciate when shows release on a traditional weekly schedule because it's much more satisfying long term to have something to look forward to each week and be able to discuss the story with people watching on the same schedule as you as a season develops...but at the same time it's going to be hard to wait for the next episode every time when I just want the answers to the questions they've posed.

I'm also in an X Files rewatch ... just finished season 3 today and watched the first episode of season 4. Next to Star Trek, the X Files are my main "nostalgia comfort tv".

Also rewatching Doctor Who with my wife (the post-2005 episodes, we've just seen the 50th anniversary special again), and The Good Doctor with my oldest daughter (still in season 1).

River S1E5 on Britbox (Finally some truths are coming to light. Stellan Skarsgard is an absolutely brilliant actor).

Just one more episode of River in season one to go. Haven’t quite gotten to Severance yet but chomping at the bit to get there as I absolutely loved that show in season one.

Currently wrapping up some of "The Jeffersons" (Season 7) and am segueing to "One Day at a Time" (season 1) then running the random number generation to decide what's next.

River S1E6 on Britbox (Final episode. Sometimes truth is ugly but necessary especially when it comes to doing the right thing. Loved the storytelling in this most excellently acted show. I’m in love with the police psychologist of course).

The Expanse S2E3 rewatch (The beautiful soon to be so useful Nauvoo. Naomi has a fun night out with Drummer (the fun and excellent Cara Gee)).
