the original 1984 Dune was great. had a better cast back then. Plus Alia was in the movie.

also really not fond of every Harkkonen in the remake being bald and looking like albinos for cripe sake

It's a really well-made, fantastic movie with a great cast and effects, and the 80s movie is just extravagant, bad, blockbuster schlock.



Also good.

the original 1984 Dune was great. had a better cast back then.

It was now-dated kitsch, slightly less garish than De Laurentiis's Flash Gordon. There are no memorable performances in it.

Plus Alia was in the movie.

Plumbing the 1930s for some fresh entertainment, I watched Merian Cooper's 1935 film version of "She" yesterday (on Amazon Prime) for lunch, and this week I'll be watching the 1937 "Jungle Jim" (on DVD) for my breakfast serial.
"She" was remarkably good, tho the version Amazon has is badly colorized.
