What are you watching???

Yesterday was a lazy quite day after a hepatic family filled weekend. We sat and watched Mare of Easttown in it's entirety via HBOMax. Mrs.Q2 & I really enjoyed it. Recommended. For me it was a bit nostalgic, I had spent a good many years traveling to a manufacturing plant in the area where this was filmed. I even spotted a few landmarks that I recognized from those days. Very authentic and beautifully filmed, really added to the enjoyment. 8.5/10

Went out to the AMC Lufkin to watch A Quiet Place, Part II. That was a pretty damn good followup to the brilliant original.

Watching Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead via Netflix now.

Just finished Season 2 of Breaking Bad.

Holy Crap that was an roller coaster of emotions. For one, seeing John De Lancie in this show was kind of surprising, but where his story goes is heartbreaking. I really liked how this season game together, and the first thing we saw in this season was the end of the season. That was tremendous payoff.

Just discovered I had Epix stuff on my ATT streaming package so I've started War of the Worlds. Pretty good so far but chuckling that it's yet ANOTHER adaptation that has little to do with the source novel.

finished "the wire" for the second time,
what a strong show, brimming with great and believable characters...

Rewatching A Quiet Place via blu ray tonight. Found the blu / DVD combo on sale at Target the other day. Haven't watched it since it was in theaters a few years ago. Still freaking brilliant.

Taking a break from Elementary because my daughter wants to watch Sherlock. It's all good, but I'm kinda Sherlock'ed out at the moment.

I started Season 3 of Breaking Bad last night and watched the first three episodes. I'm honestly surprised on how much this series really haven't shown Walt and Jesse actually making and selling the Meth. It seems like now the story is based on the unintended consequences of drugs on your way of life, family, and just the world around you. It's a pretty slow burn at the moment and I still don't see how this series is considered one of the best series of all time. It's good, but it's bordering on Overrated so far.

I know what I WON'T be watching, season 2 of Another Life. Netflix started teasing the new season. When you were a kid, when you saw your first movie that took you to another land or realm or planet and it blew your mind, did you ever try to write your own similar story when you got home? Another Life reminds me of a kid writing a story after seeing a big sci fi movie for the first time but didn't understand writing techniques, story structure, character or any of the movie's concepts, and then Netflix shot it without making any changes.
