Watching the Season 4 "Remix" of Arrested Development
It's absolutely fantastic, I'm glad I gave it another go. It's got fantastically strong, well-written characters, a harrowing backstory for our heroine, a great slow-burn story (possibly too slow, it could easily have been done in 10 episodes and feels like they had to really draw it out to fill 13), and a wonderful villain in David Tennant. Honestly it was superb, can't wait to watch season two. I really hope they dont drop the ball with it like they did with Daredevil, where the first season was noticeably superior to the second. I enjoyed season two of Daredevil overall, but at times it felt like a slog and too much attention was given to the Punisher, who I found to be an extremely unlikeable character.Still can't get into Jessica Jones I tried episode 3 but just couldn't

In spoiler tags below:So I don't get the whole story with the rapist guy that has taken a liking to Jessica Jones? What's that all about, and why her? Seemed like something odd to make as a main story. I read about all that and that's in part what has turned me off the show, of all the things one could do for a main character they chose that.

It's all about control. The way Jessica is when we meet her at the start of the season - alcoholic, full of self loathing, untrusting and basically suffering from PTSD - is entirely because of Kilgrave. He's completely amoral, he literally doesn't know right from wrong. He mind controlled her into staying with him, having sex with him, and ultimately killing for him - the revulsion she felt after which is what gave her the strength to break his control and leave him in the first place. The reason it's her is because she's the only one strong enough to have broken free of him. It fascinates him and he's not used to being told no. He can't bear it, he's obsessed. He wants her back, he's convinced he loves her and he can make her love him, but really he wants to control her, just like he controls everyone else. It's essentially the emotionally abusive/controlling ex situation, but with super powers. Even though she's left him, virtually her every thought is about him - she's still a prisoner even though she's not with him. He treats people as disposable, he ruins and ends lives, just to manipulate hers. The whole series is basically Jessica overcoming all the guilt and loathing and learning to trust people again, finally becoming the hero she always resisted being and standing up to him, breaking free mentally as well as physically.
No worries dude, wasn't trying to recap the story so much as answer your questions.Thank you for the story recap. But still think it wouldn't really be something I'd get into. But thank you.
