What are you watching???

Sorry about that misunderstanding Greg - I kinda figured that out later. I wish I had cable so I can view some of my fave old movies and shows. I loved Bela Lagosi as Dracula. I have another fave vampire now. He's called a dampher, because he's half human, half vampire and had a symbiotic host. The stories are about "Vampire Hunter D" - he hunts down bad vampires. It's a series of books from Japan under "Anime". I think you might like them. They come in graphic designed books so you can see what he looks like. Unless you saw the movie released a few years ago in limited theaters, "Bloodlust" I think that was the title. Hope you like them.

No problem. I've heard about "Vampire Hunter D," but I admit I'm not very well-versed in anime. By coincidence, though, I was just listening to soundtrack album to "Ed Wood"--in which Martin Landau played Bela Lugosi. :)

It seems like a lot of shows have that problem. I'll give it awhile, its not like I disliked the first two episodes, I just wasn't exactly blown away.

I know but in the case of Person of Interest it's really worth it once they blow the lid on it. It is a slow burner show for the first season and is often enough a mission of the week type of it but like Babylon 5 ever so often there is an episode that will have repercussions later in the show.

Season 2 gets the ball rolling and with mid season 3 it has become must see TV for me.. it's gripping, well rounded characters and also relevant to our personal lives by the questions it asks.

It's the sort of science fiction that is so close to reality that one wonders if it really is science fiction.. it doesn't need laser weapons or starships to do that but it really puts the science into fiction and wraps it in good drama. I hope you stick with it and get to enjoy it like i did.

On a related note.. done with the first 2 West Wing seasons and boy is that show brilliant. It's a Sorkin show so a Liberal's wet dream of course but i like this idealized version of reality, the characters and writing are fantastic but to some of you i'm preaching to the choir since they have already seen the show. Now this being more than 10 years old i couldn't help but be spoiled to some points that happen later but i don't mind because i enjoy the journey tremendously.

Person of Interest Season 1 Episodes 4-5

Samurai jack Season 1 Episodes 1-2 (Never seen this show before, but I liked the first two episode a lot, some great animation, interesting characters and some good humor)

Silicon Cowboys, streamed on Netflix.

Documentary about the founding of Compaq and their development of the world's first IBM-compatible PC. The Compaq story was clearly the main inspiration for AMC's Halt and Catch Fire, only a lot less interesting, and with much less attractive people.

As I was watching, I began to lament the millions of pounds of discarded PCs that are now in landfills all over the world, victims of slick marketing and Moore's Law. What a waste.
