What are you watching???

Finished the last two episodes of Sleepy Hollow before the winter solstice, I mean winter finally. This season, while not as good as the first is still miles better then the second. I'm super sorry that this is moving to the death slot of Friday. I look forward to the back half of the show.

Jonathan Ross Show

Simon Pegg, Michaela Coel and a strategically placed corpse with sunglasses... no, my mistake, it's Burt Reynolds. Pegg taking about Beyond and Mission Impossible six (which is apparently confirmed). Michaela Coel talking about Chewing Gum. I haven't watched it but the trailers have looked OK.

Oh and Coldplay. Zzzzz

Melinda and Melinda.

It's amusing watching other actors reading parts Woody would have written for himself if it was 30 year ago.

Just watched Dawn Wells (Mary Ann from "Gilligan's Island") on "Celebrity Chopped" on the Food Network. She was making Steak(!) and looked so great. She even mentioned the Mary Ann character in regard to her chances on Chopped! She said, "...well, Mary Ann was always the underdog of the two, right?!"

Tripped

Yup, enjoyed it. It doesn't waste time with too much exposition and just cracks on with the parallel realities. Could definitely get into this.

Watched "A Christmas Carol," one of my required holiday shows. This was the George C. Scott version. I'd didn't care for it much when I first saw many, many years ago (always perfered Alastair Sim version), but it has grown on me. You can't beat Edward Woodward's Ghost of Christmas Present.

Frequently Asked Questions About Time Travel

Guy put this in my head again so I decided to give it another watch. Cosy sci-fi at its best. 95% of the film takes place in a pub. We need more time travel movies like this.

Nazis on Drugs -- really, is this new? I thought it's been well known for decades that the Wehrmacht, Hitler, and many of the German population were off their faces on "die Wunderpille" Pervitin (methamphetamine or crystal meth) during WW2. The allies used Benzedrine (dl-amphetamine), which supposedly helped Monty's troops win at the second battle of El Alamein. Both drugs continued to be issued well after the end of WW2, for example, Pervitin to the Bundeswehr until the 70s and Benzedrine to US troops in Vietnam.
