What are you watching???

I stopped watching series when NCIS took a turn to the worse.
No good series to watch anymore so I'm stuck with what I got on DVD:s such as TOS, TNG, VOY, NCIS, The X-files, CSI New York and some not so known series.

The Magicians.

Hmmm..........nah, not exactly what I'm looking for.

They tried to make magic Gin because they are Alcoholics, but they used the wrong spell and made a Djinn who responded to wishes in the form of thoughts. Then the pretty girl was annoyed with her gay friends new lover, so she accidentally wished "I wish that **** would go back to where we found him and blow some other nob."

They found him in the library a few minutes later expertly fellating a door knob.

And then we had to watch him in the back ground, really go to town on that knob for about 5 minutes, while the heroes tried to figure out how to reverse the wish.

I watched 9 episodes last night.

Finally got to catch up and finish watching the new CSI Vegas eps. Really like the plot so far this season. And I just started watching the new Quantum Leap. I like it so far.

I've been curious about getting into this. Is it a bunch of standalone procedural episodes with a very loose overall background arc they only visit occasionally, or is it a heavily serialized storyline that they stick with for most of the season?

It oviously is a bit funny.

But not exactly what I'm looking for when it comes to replace stuff like NCIS, CSI NY, The X-files or Star Trek.

The Inside.

Rachel Nicholas and Peter Coyote in a Law and Order SVU clone, but they are FBI.

Of Course there's always X-files from the 1960s, co-starring Jeri Ryan.

Well, last night was Christmas so I watched Die Hard and Die Hard 2 then said "The hell with it" and watched Die Hard With a Vengeance. Before, I always ranked WAV second and 2 third with Live Free or Die Hard and A Good Day To Die Hard a distant DISTANT fourth and fifth. Upon watching all three (and not having seen With A Vengeance in at least five years), I now rank them 1, then 2, then 3. I enjoy the returning characters like Al and Thornberg, something With A Vengeance didn't have. I'm also not a fan of McClane dumping his family in LA then transferring back to New York. I'm dreading it, but I'll have to watch LFODH and AGDTDH at some point to see if my opinions of them have changed :sigh:

Tonight, I'm going to watch Glass Onion and probably an episode or two of the new Jack Ryan.

I got a download of episodes of Teresa Graves' 1974 cop show, Get Christy Love from a guy. It's kind of disappointing. There's nothing edgy or messagey about it, it's just a standard 1970s cop show, with very little acknowledgement that a black woman police detective was anything groundbreaking or unusual. Maybe that fact in itself IS the message - such a thing shouldn't be unusual. Anyway, the scripts are standard cop stories of the time, and not the best. Teresa is beautiful and cool, but not the best dramatic actress. She really shines when she's allowed to let her comedic talent come through, which is not often. There have been an assortment of TOS Trek alumni showing up - Sherry Jackson, Warren Stevens, Louise Sorrel, Sig Haig... I've always liked Teresa, so it's worth a watch, but I can see why it was a one-season show.
