Could be better. Spoiler: Spoilers A fair amount of drama on Earth and while I expect some conflict, the crew also had issues with each other
My husband likes it but I find it WAY too soap opera-ish. All the crew dealing with their feelings and bitching at each other, and tons of melodrama back on earth with a suddenly-disabled parent and an angsty teen. My husband puts an episode on almost every night, and I end up playing games on my tablet while it's on.
^ pretty much, yeah. Currently watching an episode of "A Touch of Frost" that I've never seen before.
Went out to the Cinemark Lufkin for The Dark Knight earlier tonight. There was a couple in front of me, dude kept talking when the movie started. The couple in front of them tried shushing him, that didn't work. So, I leaned down and asked, "Excuse me, but are you going to talk for the whole movie, or just certain parts?" He says, "Just certain parts." The woman with him smacked that dude so hard, he shut up for the rest of the movie.
I watched "Sliding Doors" recently. First 80 or so minutes of that movie: "Our lives are governed by chance and free will. A minor incident, like making vs. missing a train, can cause our lives to veer off in wildly different directions." Last bit of the movie: "That was BS, our lives are governed by fate."
Been watching Signs on Netflix. A Polish import, so I’m doing the subtitle thing. Not bad, decent story lines so far but it does have standard teen and family tropes that are old and tired.
Cracker (Original UK Version) on BritBox. I have vague memories of seeing it as a kid in the 90's so decided to pop it on last night. Already deep into season 2 and loving it. Robert Coltrane is fantastic, the writing is fantastic and it's a lot more funnier than I remember. Fitz is like the UK version of Gregory House (or House is the American version of Fitz) if he solved crimes instead of being a Doctor. He loves being the smartest person in the room, he's loves to poke into people's minds, loves to make them uncomfortable by saying whatever he wants and he suffers from addiction, in this case Drinking & Gambling.
I LOVED "Cracker." That was the best damn show. Robbie Coltrane was so good in that role that it's downright scary. Last night, hubby and I watched "Van der Valk" on Masterpiece Mystery--the remake, not the original. Never saw the original but heard it was racy by 1972 standards. This one? Meh. Marc Warren is cool but the plot was just...Meh. Maybe the next one will be better.
A very bad VHS on dvd transfer of "CI5 The New Professionals" spin off series of the UK show The Professionals. Not too bad but it wasn't that great either and short lived. But was a nice trip back to the 1990s
Shudder............ Should I watch youtubes of "My Mother The Car" it suddenly popped up in my reccomendations. I remember it the first time aroound when I was a kid and thought it was bad then.
