What are you watching???

Al Jazeera on the heinous, unspeakable destruction of Palmyra.

And, save it, if you are gonna say it is only a pile of rocks and there are more human tragedies in the world...I know that...

...unfathomable...just no reason for any of it...

Oh, HIjol . . . I know. I do know. It's like people saying the library at Alexandria was just a bunch of old books. :(

The destruction of creative works is senseless because creative works are acts of love.

We can take some small solace in the fact that people are still creating, whether with ink, pixels, or stones.

Points of View

They've sacked Tom Jones from The Voice and replaced him with Boy George. This is an outrage. Who do I write to about this!

Let's hope Boy George brings some oomph. He slagged the show off two years ago so fingers crossed.

Candidates singing Karma Chameleon are likely to fail......

Tom Jones always wanted to do the Voice of Germany. But all seats are occupied at the moment. Including the one of Rea unfucking fassbar Garvey (Irish singer, had a band named Reamonn).

Compared to other Prime time drama in 1999 (ER, Chicago Hope, The Soprano's, etc etc.), the West Wing is not that much better than the other wares in the business, it's probably just that they were speaking half a Gilmore faster than the competition because Aaron was on a lot of Cocaine for the first two seasons, and he was writing the show for other cocaine addicts.

I don't know, Guy Gardener. One person's cocaine is another person's caffeine. ;)

Seriously, I can't imagine working a high-powered job in the West Wing without being on permanent overdrive--or should I say warp drive? (Sorry. Guess I didn't stay serious for long. :) )

Lady Chatterley's Lover

The Beeb's new version on tonight. It's all a bit dull really. Lots of good-looking people in it though so that's nice. Richard Madden (last seen getting slaughtered at the Red wedding in GoT) and Holliday Graiger. She is quite something (enough to make a man take up gardening).

Love & Money.

So I'm looking at the male leading who is obviously the most beautiful man in the world, but where, 15 years later has this ripped Adonis, wandered off t... Holy crap it's Bobby Cobb (from Cougar Town)!

Evil Dead 2.

Maybe I'll like the third one better.

The third one, despite its gore, or perhaps because of it, is really funny. In tone and content, it bears little resemblance to the first.

I'm watching Wet Hot American Summer , the TV series on Netflix. Good god, the needed something's not this weird and funny right about now.

Right now, Fast 7.

Later, I've got the season finale of Dark Matter and the season premier of Doc Martin:)

I'm angry at some of you for hiding the truth of the universe from me for 16 years.

I had to discover all by myself that Anne Hathaway played a moody misunderstood yet brilliant teenage prima donna in a 22 episode long 40 minute drama about a dysfunctional yet typical all American family.

Same on you, shammmmmme.

:(

Get Real

Crafted by Morgan Spurlock - I often like Morgan Spurlock's documentaries, but this one was kinda meh. Worse then a Discovery Channel episode, this 25 minute documentary barely scratches the surface of the three different hand crafted segments.

Anthony Bourdain's Raw Craft - Kaufman Knives - Awesome look at the hand making of Kaufman knives. This was way better then the Crafted documentary, however the episode only focused one story. This guy makes chef and kitchen knives, he use iron from meteorites in some of his knives. I going to watch a few other episodes in this series.

Teen Beach Party 2.

A Disney Grease-like musical where two kids who couldn't be more opposite (cough!) break through a breach in reality to find themselves immersed inside a classic 1960s beach musical movie AGAIN! Actually, I just started this bugger, and because it's a sequel, I think the movie characters break out into the real world to teach the square modern kids how to be cool.

Spenser: For Hire, season 2. Carolyn McCormick (Minuette from TNG) joins the cast as a knockout blonde ADA.
