What are you playing in 2009?

I've never played any of the Halo games (sacrilege in some circles, I know) to be honest. I wouldn't mind firing through them just to get up to speed but they never struck me as the OMFG MUST PLAY titles that folks make them out to be.

They're not, not even close. Good games, solid stories and typical FPS
gameplay, but nothing special at all. The new; Halo 3 ODST expansion
thingy they're doing looks to be better though.

I've said it plenty of times already, I find all the Halo games incredibly bland and generic.

I want a Lego FPS.

Not a lot. My backlog of unfinished games is just too high--it's around ten titles or so. I'll probably pick up the third Mario & Luigi RPG for the DS when it gets a North American release, but otherwise, working my way through Vice City Stories on the PSP, becoming competent on Mario Kart DS, and becoming TEH HARDCOREZ on Team Fortress 2, along with starting Bioshock and Final Fantasy Tactics (and this is only a partial list.)

Not gonna bother with all of 2009, but in the short term I want to go back and finish Red Alert 3, get Mirror's Edge PC when it comes out and I am totally all over Dawn of War 2 next month. And continuing to play Warhammer Online!

Beyond that, I generally try and keep from getting excited about titles that aren't coming out for a while. Less disappointment when things get delayed that way :p

COD5:WAW. Aiming for Prestige 10-currently L20, P2. I have my work cut out for me. Come the release, Modern Warfare2-and Infinity better take note of the awesome, sprawling maps that 5 has-don't want to go back to 4's chokepoints and lack of terrain access! Plan to master all DC characters in DC vs MK. Maybe Warhawx if the demo proves fun-I miss Crimson Skies and am itching for online flight combat.

I've got a big backlog of games I've picked up to get through still...

Fable 2
Infinite Undiscovery
Crysis Warhead
Final Fantasy 9 (yeah i'm a bit behind...)

Can't wait for Resident Evil 5, I'll definitely be playing that in 09

Most of the games I'll be playing aren't that new and I don't keep track of what's new as much as I used to.

I also need to upgrade at some point. However, these seem to be on the agenda so far.

Replay:-
COD2 & 4
Mass Effect (Finished it, but want to replay using other choices)
SWAT 4
AVP 1 & 2

Ongoing:-
Tomb Raider Anniversary
Lost
Wii Force Unleashed
Red Steel

I also want to get Gears of War 1, and maybe, if I get that upgrade, try Crysis and Farcry 2.

Mass Effect 2 will also be on my list if it heads to pc

Half-Life 2: Episode 3, if it gets a 2009 release, is an automatic purchase.

There are horrible rumors going around that we won't see Ep3 until 2010 ... :(

Anyway, I'll be playing:

Halo Wars & Halo: ODST (though many think the franchise is overrated, I generally adore it)
Killzone 2 (yes I'm buying a PS3, largely for the Blu-ray player)
Left 4 Dead (Yes, it came out last year, but we've got DLC coming and I ***LOVE*** the game. I could play it endlessly with a good enough team - it doesn't matter to me at all that there are currently only four scenarios).

Aliens: Colonial Marines is supposed to drop at the end of the year, right? That's a must-buy.

I'll also of course keep playing COD: WAW

WoW for the moment, though I confess that I've lost a bit of steam since going away for two weeks over the holidays

Well, my brother got me C&C3: Tiberium Wars for Christmas. I've already finished the GDI and Nod campaigns, but haven't yet completely the alien campaign.

Game should've been called Tiberian Twilight. I mean, seriously......

After that I think it's time I went back and got some older Windows-only games played that I've never tried, now that I have an Intel Mac. Maybe Half-Life, for instance, or Max Payne 2.

WoW will likely continue to eat up most of my time. And my 360/PC game backlog.

I'm mainly looking forward to Dragon Age this year, plus some sequels if they come out this year. Half-Life 2: Episode 3, Mass Effect 2, and Bioshock 2. There's also some downloadable content I'm looking forward to. Mostly for Fallout 3.

Pretty much everything I bought at the end of '08. A huge list of games.

I got myself on an Oblivion kick and that was pretty much the only thing I played.
After a 3 week vacation I finished the main quest last night and started on the Shivering Isles quest.

The other things I played were( Believe it or not) Are you Smarter than a 5th grader and Uno.

I've already played LittleBigPlanet and Quantum of Solace for the PS3...

PlayStation 2:

God of War
God of War 2

Playstation 3:

Resident Evil 5
Ghostbusters: The Video Game
Batman: Arkham Asylum
God of War III
Street Fighter IV
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

PSP:

Resistance: Retribution

Let's see,
- Valkyria Chronicles (I'm 3/4 through it)
- Mirror's Edge (1/3 done)
- Fallout 3 (barely started it)
- Metal Gear Solid 4 (haven't started it yet)
- Grand Theft Auto 4 (i'm halfway through my second completion of the game)
- NHL '09 (haven't played it in a while)
- Little Big Planet
- Motorstorm: Pacific Rift (online multi-player kicks ass)

I will most likely also play Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction (and Quest for Booty) before R&C2 comes out. I've already completed R&C four times so far. ;)
Oh and I also plan to play through Uncharted before U2 is released. That'll be like the fifth time I finish the game.

There are also titles that I might play every once in a while like Wipeout HD, Pixeljunk Eden, and Lego Star Wars.

And this isn't even counting all the new games coming out 2009, like Heavy Rain, The White Knight Chronicles, and Final Fantasy XIII (hopefully). Besides, who knows what else is gonna be good in 2009. ;) There's a ton of stuff coming out for the PS3 so I definitely won't be bored.

Forgot to mention the GTA IV dlc in Feb. That should be worth 15 hours or so. Has anyone played Rise of the Argonauts on 360? I've been following its development and was looking forward to it until I read some less-than-stellar reviews.

Mass Effect 2 (please, please, please come out this year!)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Resident Evil 5
Alpha Protocol
Dragon Age: Origins
Highlander
(even if it sucks)
Empire: Total War

And I'm only like 25 hours into Fallout 3, so that's likely going to be keeping me busy for much of the rest of the year.
