On my way to Costco shopping, I stopped by the office of my local House of Representative. I need the Rep's office to check my VA health care status. I signed up for VA health care because of the Pact Act in July 2024, due to exposure to ionizing radiation in 1979 from a cleanup of primary coolant that I was volunteered for. After I tried to sign up in July, the VA sent me a letter that said I was denied coverage, due to too much income. Then I get a letter in late January saying I was covered by VA health care that met the requirements of the ACA for the months of August through December. I asked them to check and if I do have coverage, could they get me a VA medical card. Also, not all of my medals are on my DD-214, I brought a copy of my personnel evaluation the showed I was awarded the Navy/Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal, and to see if I could get a revised copy of my DD-214, that shows the award. I may never need to use the VA health care, but will use it as a back-up if the unelected DOGE bags determine that Medicare is waste and decide to gut it.
