I have never known anyone who uses snuff.

I just looked it up. It seems the sale of snuff is illegal in Australia but people are allowed to buy it from overseas.

I guess whether it's a snuff box would depend on it's size. Aren't those usually small enough to fit in a breast pocket?

In the U.S. a large-ish version of what's in the picture could be used for cookies.

I have heard both bun and roll for this one. I think they're usually labelled "Dinner Rolls" on the packaging, but at the table people just refer to them as buns.

Those are the most common names, though I have heard people refer to it as a teacake. Though to me whilst similar a teacake tends to be sweeter and has currants in it.

Would really need to now the size of it as that can determine what it is called but like others my initial thought was a snuff box.
