What are the Trekbbs ads trying to sell to you?

8 TRILLION bytes? What're you gonna carry around, the Library of Congress?

Noooooo what the seller (scammer) is trying to sell is a 8 terabyte SSD for under $100 and I have to wonder how many people would click a link like that thinking "bargain?"

Hey surprise you got malware

I have a 6TB disk not unlike that in appearance, doing video and music it’s fast to fill up.

But yes, at that price is a scam. Most likely the disk is only a few GB but the controller reports 8TB and you’ll realise something is wrong only after a while, when your data ends up all corrupted. Very common scam and the reason I only buy SSDs and USB sticks by reliable manufacturers in reliable stores.

Indeed…SSDs can have the standard 2.5 HD form factor and be installed in any sata case.

but the fact that a 8TB SSD usually costs almost 800€ should raise a few red flags!

Has anyone seen this series iWish on youtube? Here's an example, kind of related to this topic because it's products being advertised but you don't get the actual product advertised.

Some company called Zoro put up an ad.

Nothing too exciting showing up for me today... luxury clothing, historical medieval clothing, and luxury wristwatches. Out of curiosity I clicked on the last one, and their most expensive watch is $180,900, with financing from $555 per month.

I guess a brand can charge whatever they want for a watch, I've seen and worn watches in the $20,000 range but could never get where the actual value came from apart from the brand name and maybe the actual quality of the product being good. The price seemed off the wall even for that amount.

There's a particular line of luxury watches that I like, that typically go for $5,000 to $20,000 depending on the specific model. But even if I could afford it, I would never spend anywhere near that amount on a watch. Thankfully I was able to find something very similar in design, of possibly dubious origin, for much cheaper. :shifty:

Oddly the cheaper non brand watches tend to be good quality some of the time. I haven't worn a watch in a long time but have a few in a drawer in still good condition.
