What are the qualities of a valuable teacher?

Knowing better then good or bad or indifferent how do you know that the lessons are of value or not?, for teaching or for learning?

Are you talking science teachers specifically, or teachers in general, think?

Since it is in this forum it is ok to focus on the Science and Technology aspect.

The lessons should apply across the board to any life lesson .. I believe valuable teaches teach us how to learn for ourselves.

Although since I know that myself, I wonder how to teach that beyond myself for others to grow?

If asking the question "how?" or "What is" is a way to teach a better understanding of oneself would that be a valuable lesson to teach?

the list really is endless and when you come down to it we are all teaching and learning, Right?

what are the greater qualities of valuable education does having a piece of paper make one smart or have common sense?

where are the lines that we can draw between what is valuable and not valuable?
