What are the least Star Trek-like Star Trek novels?

"Fine" might be an exaggeration when it comes to "Wolf in the Fold". :shifty:

I don't know. I always enjoyed that episode.

STAR TREK meets Jack the Ripper. What's not to like?

(Then again, my first professional sale was a Jack the Ripper meets Sweeney Todd story, so I may be biased . . . .)

I prefer the Babylon 5 Jack the Ripper story...

What about TIME AFTER TIME? Directed by Trek's own Nicholas Meyer?

That's probably the best of the bunch!

Hm. Who won?

Alas, Jack chose the wrong night to get a shave . . . .

For the record, I sold the story to MIKE SHAYNE MYSTERY MAGAZINE way back in the early eighties--for a penny and half a word!

If you'll indulge me a shameless plug, I have yet another Ripper story in TIMESHARES, a time-travel anthology that went on sale last month.

So, obviously, "Wolf in the Fold" was right up my alley!

I thought the B5 Jack episode was terrible. An hour of torture why?

Sanctuary's Jack the Ripper, on the other hand, can teleport. A Jack the Ripper that can teleport!

I like the Final Destination Jack the Ripper story, but I'm biased cos I wrote it...

I love Wolf In The Fold though (oddly enough, I finally managed to show the wife Twelve Angry Men the other night, and was surprised to see a familiar face from that episode, which totally coloured my viewing this time round!)

Yeah, John Fiedler was in everything back then. Indeed, with all the prominent '50s/'60s character actors in that film, it's surprising Fiedler was the only one who did Trek (though of course there are plenty of Twilight Zone vets in it, including Fiedler, Jack Klugman, Martin Balsam, Edward Binns, and Jack Warden, who all did at least two TZ episodes each).

I bet that story was a cut above the rest.

It was actually titled "A Slice of History."

And let's not forget THE NIGHT STALKER's Ripper episode.

Clearly, somebody needs to schedule a "Jack the Ripper meets Science Fiction" marathon!

I'm honestly amazed they never did a Jack The Ripper X File in any medium, and that they didn't do a full Buffy or Angel episode or novel with him...

Actually, Blood and Fog by Nancy Holder was a Buffy book with Jack the Ripper as the main antagonist.
