Spoilers What are the golems actually?

James Cawley Was the best. Jim Carey would have been equally as good if given the chance.

It's bad because Golems can be used to further damage legacy characters and confuse the fans by putting them in Golems. A one time planet healing on Spock that the writers quickly blew up was smart.
Well,
One is made in Disco S4, along with the suggestion that the process had only ever worked on rare occasion, basically suggesting only Altan Soong had managed to get it to work, and now he's dead, so...

The thing is, that hasn't happened yet in Picard, which is 700 years before Discovery. In Picard Season 3, only 21 months have passed since Picard was successfully transferred and in the research world that's like 21 seconds. Realistically Seasons 2 AND 3 should be about how game-changing this golem resurrection method is and it'd realistically be what ANYONE was talking about.

Soong is dead

I thought it was pretty clear that Picard's golem was a biosynthetic android. It has organs, flesh and blood, just constructed rather than grown. The biggest functional difference between a born human and a golem being a positronic matrix in the brain and the ability to adjust attributes like strength, age, etc when "setting" the golem.

Datalore's model of a golem is clearly different in that its got more mechanical parts, but it does appear to be at least partially organic.

Also, its been settled that Picard is Picard, not a copy no matter how upset it makes you personally. His mind was transferred not copied. Its been done before in Trek numerous times.

I think this is the best answer we can get. This is it.

The only thing I would change is biosynthetic android to biosynthetic human. Bcs by definition android is mechanical automaton that looks like human being. And Picard is definitly not mechanical automaton. He is still entirely flash and blood human. Yes, he was grown in Soong's lab but he is not mechanical automaton (in one word android)

Picard golem = biosynthetic human

Data/Lore golem = hybrid of old fashion android and biosynthetic parts

With regards to General Picard's golem, we don't have that many details on it - just that he got it after a battle with Dukat. My personal theory is that General Picard was fatally wounded in that battle and the Confederation didn't want anyone to know, so they transferred him into a golem that is almost identical to a human. Perhaps General Picard himself never knew that it happened.

Also, even though Q started struggling with his clicky powers, he stilled seem to regain his omniscience. He accepted golem Picard as Picard, which to me is proof that he is Picard.

I'm used to the Dragon Ball Z definitions of android where any created/constructed intelligent lifeform, whether organic or mechanical is an android.

I believe androids can be either. Picard seems to be fully organic while Data is more mechanical. Picard’s parts as I understand it while organic, are artificial
