What are the Actors up to?

On the other hand, Starship Troopers has its own fans; and I'm sure many were happy to have Joelene Blalock onboard. (Although, considering the clips I saw...THAT film could have been a bit better).
I only saw about 1 half of it, and not even Jolene is worth wasting the time on that peace of junk. It's a shame that Jolene can't get a decent gig, AFAIK she doesn't really need the money, so why humiliate herself like that? And don't even get me started on "Shadow Puppets," that one makes "SW Holiday Special" seem like an Oscar-worthy material.

Lol Harsh

Out of all the ENT actors, Jolene's the only one that doesn't have to act to support her family (given she's married to a music mogul), so one would think either she'd be a bit more discriminating in what roles she accepted (if she had that choice and casting directors would consider her for better roles - or, with that said, if she was even offered other roles at all) or step back gracefully and maybe do the occasional decent and memorable, albeit not 'feature "star"' guest spot (again if that was presented to her as a possibility.)

I am definitely not a fan of Starship Troopers, don't know anything about Shadow Puppets (but even she was pretty vocal about it being bad - and I haven't heard good things around the forums about it - plus we know Jolene us pretty vocal about the quality of the product she's recently completed, even when the project is lousy...) C movies rarely lead to higher quality work for any actor. Once that die is cast, it's hard to break the mold.

Maybe Jolene is just doing the projects to fulfill a jonesing to act in front of the camera, I don't know? But I agree with Mach5 - it's a shame she can't seem to get something decent... (And I fully respect how difficult it is for an entertainer to land, and then maintain, quality work, so I'm certainly not trying to be unnecessarily be harsh on Jolene as actress, actually, quite the opposite, wishing to she her skills used in stronger projects. I'd like to see her in some classier roles after the job she ended up doing in ENT.)

Well Perhaps T'pol is trying to stay visable if you know what I mean, someone may see starship troopers 3 and think crap film, good actress

^ I don't know. Many times people don't have to work, but ... it's something to do. Also, I get the impression that Jolene is still starting her career rather than having an established career. In order to get noticed, she may have to do more crap films. After all, she was the only one on Ent who hadn't really acted before in any meaningful way. Scott, Connor, John, etc. had all been guest stars on many programs or were known before Ent.

I think Jolene will come into her own, or at least hope so. I think it's unfortunate that many Star Trek actors who are incredible fall prey to type casting.

I got a chance to see I'm Through With White Girls over the weekend (it was on Showtime) and I have to say, it was really very funny. It's a low budget indy film with nobody else that I recognized. As stiff and wooden as Montgomery often was in ENT, he was that natural and funny in White Girls. He plays a man who is completely incapable of making a committed relationship work, due to his own little quirks, and tries to rationalize it by swearing off dating white women. That turns out to be the least of his issues. If you're into odd little romantic comedies, I'd recommend checking it out.

If you like Jolene you MUST watch shadow puppets!!!!! It is so incredibly bad you will not belive, seriously it's so bad its entertaining!

^ Really? I like Jolene just like the next guy, but I've found the thing unwatchable.

I usually find it to be very spotty for things in development. Either it is late, or it mentions something a year before it is released.

Jolene Blalock will appear in 10 Items or less Star trok will be shown Tuesday January 20 at 11;00p.m. and repeated at 2;00 am and Friday January 23 10;55 p.m. Leslie wants to have a Star Trek convention and talks Jolene into appearing at an illegal star Trek convention and she gets upset about it. I look forward to seeing her star in a comedy.Futon critic they have have an interview with the director who talks about Jolene guest staring in 10 Items or less and the fact they film the show in a real Grocery store in California.

John Billingsley guested on the 24 premiere. Cool to see him. His character is still in danger at this very moment in fact. ;)

I'm glad Jolene doesn't need to act to pay the bills- I'd hate to see her do an Infomerical at 3 in the morning or worse- Cinemax softcore flicks!

The reviews for Starship Troopers 3 keep mentioning she looks like Angelina Jolie and that's the problem, I think the producers deliberately dressed her up like Angelina in Skycaptain- Jolene unfortunately will be labled as a poor man's Angelina Jolie. Check Jolene's pics in Femme Fatale magazine and she's Angelina's twin! I was at Comic-Con back in July and Casper Van Dien and Jolene were there to promote Troopers 3- yup, the resemblance to Angelina is there- she shouldn't fight it and get her agent to see if the Tomb Raider series will be revived!

^

You're right about Jolene being the "twin" of AJ. I didn't really watch Jolene in other shows, I didn't know she's in CSI I prolly have to search for that ep, but I thought she's a ringer for her even I first viewed Enterprise. It's those big eyes of hers, lips and the shape of her face. Having a fit body also helps of course.

 Most hilarious statement by far. I'll just take your word (and Jolene's opinion) for it that it's bad....really bad. I wouldn't go even a mile near it. :p

Trust me Bluejay, not even Jolene in her underwear can make that atrocity watchable...

As for the Jolene/Jolie comparisons, I can easily imagine teenage T'pol looking like this:

Read an article yesterday, said that Scott Bakula will be guest starrin' on NBC's Chuck later this season, playin' Papa Bartowski, a former rival to Chevy Chase's character.

This means I just have to see it. This poor woman hasn't been in one good role since Enterprise! Just as an FYI to all she will be appearing in the TBS sit com "10 Items or Less" this week, playing herself. The info I have is below.

S3.E3 Star Trok-January 20th, 2008 @ 11/10 C
Leslie's idea of holding a Star Trek convention at Greens & Grains is rejected by Paramount, so he decides to hold a Star Trok convention instead, dangerously close to a trademark violation. When Star Trek: Enterprise's Jolene Blalock shows up for her celebrity appearance, an exploding refrigerator compressor leaves her trapped in close quarters with Leslie and Ingrid.
