Back to the Future, Men in Black, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, Flubber, Weird Science. Comedy, with its implausible plots, tends to be even more a matter of personal taste than drama, though.

While I love British humour, I could never get into Red Dwarf, either.

Galaxy Quest and Futurama are my top choices.

I have the opposite reaction. I'm not a huge fan of most British humor but I loved Red Dwarf. It's not quite so highbrow.

The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. is a steampunk sci-fi sorta show. Great all around even if you prefer to consider it more of a western. Bruce Campbell. Nuff said.
