What about Guinan?

Druncle gets pissed off when Guinan tells him he's had too much, so he goes home and beats up little Jimmy. This then spurs Jimmy to become the great hero we know and love... all because Guinan had the balls (and the high-powered disruptor) to cut Druncle off at the bar.

Man, this stuff practically writes itself!

Abrams, hire this man!

Guinan could be the unsung hero of the Trek universe, being the one responsible for helping both Kirk and Spock grow into the great men they become. So we've already established up thread Guinan's involvement with Kirk's Cliched Druncle. Then after this is taken care of, she goes to Vulcan and becomes a mentor to a soft spoken Vulcan boy. She asks him his name. "Spock," he says. "I can't hear you," she says. "Spock" he says louder. "Still can't hear you." "Spock!" "You're going to have to speak up" "SPOCK!" "I'll come back when you're willing to talk loud enough to be heard." As she walks away Spock shouts "SPOCK! MY NAME IS SPOCK!" Guinan continues to walk away, prompting Spock to shout "WOMAN! WOMAN, YOU HAVE NOT REVEALED YOUR NAME!" When Guinan's gone Spock screams "WOMEN!" in frustation.

From this day forward, a shy timid boy has been given the confidence to deal with his personal struggles and gains determination to join Starfleet and become one of its greatest officers, all thanks to Guinan.

Now could someone please think up how Guinan helped Scotty decide if he wanted to be a white man or a black man...?

You know, there was ONE other actress who played Guinan on TNG.

When Picard, Ro, Guinan and one or two others got "de-aged" into pre-teens, a much younger actress played Guinan and she came across pretty well as a younger version of Whoopie.

That was quite a few years ago.

I wonder how old that girl is now, and if she could pull it off again?

Yeah...I know that in the 19th century Guinan already looked like Whoopie's version of the character...still, if we're recasting...

Yes. That does it for me.

We MUST have the younger girl play Guinan in this film, or I'm boycotting it AND telling people the movie kicks puppies.

That was in 1992, so she's probably in her mid-20s now. Only thing is: she has only one other acting credit listed on IMDb, from the same year, also playing a younger version of a character played by Whoopi Goldberg.

By the way...

Is this the picture of Whoopie everyone's saying shows what she looks like now?

No, because there was never any mention of her prior to Generations. At first when I saw this movie for the first time I didn't understand why she was even in the 23rd century then. I just don't understand why we can't have one movie based on the original characters-- and no crossovers. That's what all four TNG movies had and we did fine with no crossovers in TOS!
Considering that the first four TOS films predated TNG, it's hard to see how they could have a crossover. And then of course, there's Kirk and McCoy's defense attorney in Undiscovered Country, a certain Colonel Worf... ;)

Exactly my point :)

You forget. Guinan has been shown to be of the 23rd century. Also of the....umm....the 19th, was it?

Guinan is a trekkian constant. She's like warp drive. Always has been there, always will be. And like the exact mechanics of warp drive...

We don't have to see her. :D
Khan would still recognize her on sight. :D

She was in the stall blowing Chekov, while Khan was waiting to use the men's room.
