What 32nd century discovery novels are you hoping to be published?

What topics do you want to see explored and who do you want to see authoring the 32nd century novels? What are your hopes for the expansion of the Star Trek Litverse into the 32nd century?

The 32nd century is still being established, so I reckon it's going to be some time until we get anything but self-contained stories.
Something that would excite me would be stories that have flashbacks centuries in the past, like Michael Jan Friedman's Kahless. We had the current 24thC storyline plus one set in ancient times.

Similarly, David Mack's Control included meaningful flashbacks to the 22ndC.

Such an approach would allow worldbuilding or expanding on something familiar, while avoiding it getting contradicted in the "present day" of the 32C. As an example, Star Trek Online's Temporal Cold War storyline allows us to see the galaxy united under the Galactic Union in 2769 and a follow-up mission to Na'kuhl in the 29th century. These missions were released before DSC season 3 but don't contradict it, so they can give us a glimpse into 'the lost era' between 2399/2411 and 3064/3188.

I'd like to read about that century of Temporal Wars. I presume that ENT 2-parter with aliens in the White House during WWII was only the tip of the iceberg for those events.

Also if there are 22nd/23rd/24th century novels with big sweeping aftermaths, we've got the perfect epilogue era.

Definitely a new Articles of the Federation! I like what they are doing with the Federation President in the show, so after the character has been fully established, I'd love to see a book about her and her administration and get to see the politics of the era. Obviously, I'd love for it to be written by KRAD himself.

That would be a really great choice for a new, standalone series that isn't going to interfere with any running TV shows and could allow multiple authors to approach an era from multiple directions. Make it so!

I feel like a Book novel (a book on Book) would be a nice addition, especially considering his arc for this season, contextualize his past a little more. Same for Admiral Vance, to particularly pick up the experience of the post-Burn Federation and Starfleet. Maybe a political thriller about President Rillak getting to office.

I do think that we haven’t seen enough of the 32nd century beyond crises to know what stories to tell in more specific terms. I think this season of Discovery is starting to explore the greater tapestry of the post-Burn universe, but I think any Discovery novels would be inherently bound to center on the Discovery crew, instead of something like exploring the Temporal Cold War from its origin timeframe.

Though there are honestly still some 23rd century Discovery stories I’d like to see, but I realize we’re probably not going to see a step back while the show is still running, just to keep novels in step with the shownproper. Still, one can dream, and maybe when the show wraps we’ll see more of a timeline jump around.

I would love to see a novel exploring the history of the Federation during the "Lost Centuries," especially the hundred twenty-or-so years on either side of the Burn.
Agreed! There's a large enough chunk of time in there that, if Pocket wanted to, they could have an era of their own set aside for cultivating their own new Litverse-type narrative that wouldn't step on the toes of any other eras.

That sounds a lot like what Star Wars has been doing with the High Republic era, which so far has only been books, comics, and audio dramas. Because it's so long before anything else in cannon, they can get away with doing a massive interconnected story not unlike the old Expanded Universe.
It would be great to see Star Trek do something similar...

I guess i would want to see how the various civilizations we have grown attached to have evoled and developed over the last several hundred years, such as are the Ferangi still ruthlessly capitalist ? Did the Klingon Empire survive or is it more an era of deolonisation with the warrior stuff more of a traditional cast with another society developing underneath.

How far did the Federation branch out ? what was the federation like when it returned to the Delta Quadrent ( yes i am a big fan of the full circle novels) Whats the sotry behind voyagers A-J ?
