OK...I normally have NO sympathy for Vorta whatsoever. But I was wondering about something in the episode "In the Cards."
Right before Jake and Nog are kidnapped to the Dominion ship, they're being sent back to their quarters because they claimed they were drunk when they approached Kai Winn. After they're returned, we don't hear a single word about that...sure, Sisko's grateful to know that his son is safe (and that he's got this prized baseball card), but I still think we should have heard something about the lengths Jake and Nog went to, in doing something to tick off the Dominion and Bajor at the same time, on a "drunken" whim.
Or should we have?
Could it be, that in the spirit of unusual benevolence that just about everyone had in that episode, that Weyoun, cheered up by Giger's screwball theories, actually told Sisko and Winn both what happened and why ("No, they weren't trying to create a diplomatic incident, they were just trying to get a gift for Captain Sisko."), and got Jake and Nog out of the doghouse? We know he certainly had the opportunity and the motive to be talking to both of them on more official business during that episode--could it be he said something? And that maybe, to cheer Jake up, Sisko just acted surprised when he actually got the card?
(This wouldn't have spoiled EVERYTHING Jake and Nog did, which would still leave the "mystery" of the cheerful station, for Sisko's log entry. But Sisko WOULD have known that Jake and Nog never got drunk, Kai Winn would've made nice about the whole thing, and Weyoun would have shown everyone that they weren't lying about Giger's existence.)
Given the kiss-ass that Weyoun tends to be if he thinks he can get something out of someone, I actually think that it might not have been so out-of-character!
