When I was a kid Radio Skack was heaven.I remember when walkie talkies were almost as big a Christmas present as getting an Atari 2600 or Colecovision system.

My father already converted to CDs in 1984 when I was 8 years old, so I didn't grow up with that problem.I'm only 34, but I can still remember when you could get replacement phonograph needles at Radio Shacks. My mom had to when I was a kid...we were playing Christmas LPs on our stereo record system and the needle stopped working. Back then(around 1987)you could still get needles in stores like that.

Which left me scratching my head when watching an episode of "Futurama" where Fry rediscovers his The Breakfast Club record, when I myself owned that soundtrack on compact disc.![]()
Yeah, like all those kids don't capitalize the first words in sentences and use apostrophes on plurals instead of possessive nouns!i think you could place the blame squarely on the educational system. they teach kid's nothing of value these day's.
I got the radio kit. I loved to go to radio Shack and just look at all the wires and switches on the wall. Not to mention the walkie talkies and such we had. When I was a kid Radio Skack was heaven.I remember when walkie talkies were almost as big a Christmas present as getting an Atari 2600 or Colecovision system.
Did you ever get one of those Radio Shack radio panels with all those wires and doohickies you connect them too??? I wonder if anyone has one like that anymore.
Rob

When you're old enough to remember the Dinky Toys die-cast ships from the very first movie on store shelves and pegs along with ST:TMP Silly Putty eggs in movie packaging? You're old enough.![]()
You are correct! That was just a typo, as I do know the difference between discrete and discreet.Don't you mean "discreetly"?![]()

I still have Kirk, Spock, Scotty and Ilia action figures. Sadly, my Kirk had his hands gnawed off by a pet rat several years back...
I have 2 of the large Ilia still in the boxes. One has eyelashes and the other does not - interesting variation.
Put Kirk WITH Ilia and she'd be losing clothes.
Oath of Celibacy don't mean shit when you've got mad skillz with plastic genitalia.

Yep...Odo FINALLY found that out for real on DS9..
