Did you ever get one of those Radio Shack radio panels with all those wires and doohickies you connect them too??? I wonder if anyone has one like that anymore.

I'm only 34, but I can still remember when you could get replacement phonograph needles at Radio Shacks. My mom had to when I was a kid...we were playing Christmas LPs on our stereo record system and the needle stopped working. Back then(around 1987)you could still get needles in stores like that.

My father already converted to CDs in 1984 when I was 8 years old, so I didn't grow up with that problem.
Which left me scratching my head when watching an episode of "Futurama" where Fry rediscovers his The Breakfast Club record, when I myself owned that soundtrack on compact disc.
Amazingly, my sons all like Star Trek..though TOS is the favorite of the middle boy...my 21 year old step daughter is about to be assimillated as my revenge for her forcing me to see "Mamma Mia"... "Star Trek" to be released in Summer...will be forced upon her...

Well, I'm 24 and I love all the Star Trek series' - even TOS. In fact, I've come to appreciate it more this past year than ever before. Still pretty campy though.

My first CD and CD player were in 1988 or '89. Listened to LPs, 45s and cassettes before then. Maybe I was a late bloomer compared to some, but in my area CDs were still sorta like BluRay players are now when I was an early teen. You could get 'em and fairly easily in some stores...but most didn't have them for a few years afterwards.
in '87 had the ultimate Pioneer system given to me as a gift from my then wife..could play LPs CDs and cassette tapes..so for many years afterwards..had the best of everything... added a CD recorder to the system in the late 90s...alas..the entire system gave up the ghost during a thunderstorm in 2004...

When you're old enough to remember the Dinky Toys die-cast ships from the very first movie on store shelves and pegs along with ST:TMP Silly Putty eggs in movie packaging? You're old enough.
I still have Kirk, Spock, Scotty and Ilia action figures. Sadly, my Kirk had his hands gnawed off by a pet rat several years back...

I have all of mine!
Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, Decker and Ilia. The paint's faded or rubbed off of spots on Kirk and Spock due to me playing more roughly with them than the others as a little kid, but I still have them and they are still in fairly good condition. Ilia still has almost every drop of paint, and her Starfleet delta shield on her chest is still bright yellow after almost 29 years!

I have 2 of the large Ilia still in the boxes. One has eyelashes and the other does not - interesting variation.
I also got the bigger TOS dolls from Mego(Kirk and Spock)but they've lost accessories and clothes over the years.
