With PS2, if you had a remote control, which was $200 extra, a PS2 could be selected to play any zone of DVD.
I have no idea if this is true with PS4.
In New Zealand the market was flooded with cheap parallel imports from Asia, which had no zone restrictions 20 years ago, after which the big boys had to play along and pretend that zones don't exist either, or no one would buy their more expensive product.
There is cheap or free software that can turn your dvd drive on your computer to multizone, if it isn't already multizone.
