Tell you what, I'll start up the next thread. When I was moderating TOS I tried something similiar, without knowing this thread even existed, and it didn't work. It'll be nice to get another crack at it.

Wow, it sure has! I knew it's been a slow burner for a while, but didn't realize it's been lingering for over a year. This might be one for the record books!
I can't believe it's been that long. Maybe I should go back over it and see how immature I was when this thread first started.

That's what I hope the school system says too. I was a substitute, then I got laid off due to budget cuts, but an opening in paraprofessional clerical came up and when I went in a lot of the people at Human Resources were surprised I was gone and said they'd put in a good word for me. If all goes well, I should be employed again next week.
Reminds me a bit of Adama when he was trying to get back into the fleet... except no drunks have come to my door yet and I don't have a silly mustache.

I used to do that.
That's how one of my friends found out I was a moderator here, four years ago. I tried to convince him to join, and told him the board wasn't bad aside from TNZ and ENT, but he only stuck around for two posts.
I post from work, but only when I'm caught up with my work or on my lunch hour. Or if I stay late to avoid traffic or something.
And BTW, Lord Garth, DS9 is not the only forum that has a thread like this. VOY does too - that "Sexy Kate Mulgrew Picture Thread" is used for a purpose similar to this.
I think it's nice to have one thread in a forum where everyone can post their off topic stuff, or ask for opinions about scifi shows from a smaller, more intimate group of people than one might get in SFF.
This thread sorta started by accident originally when we started using our countdown threads releated to the DVD releases for this purpose. After the DVDs were released, we left the season 7 countdown thread open until it reached 1,000...then Kevsthaman ran a thread for a few months...and finally, my favorite VOY fan SB took up the helm on this one cus she's my B5 buddy and I wanted her to post in here, even though she doesn't like DS9.
Sometimes it's sorta fun to read some of the early stuff in these threads...we take our time and don't spam them (or, at least the regulars don't), so most of the content is nice to have around.
Anyway, glad you are gonna hang around!
