Welcome new Voyager fans!

Welcome to the board, Luckie314... :bolian:

It's okay to fall in love with another Trek... :)

Okay as long as you STILL love Voyager! :p

Hi Everyone!

My name is Anni and I started Watching Voyager in June of 2002. The first episode I ever saw was Lineage and it was fitting since my father had recently died. I think that connection got me hooked and I have loved the series ever since.

I had the honor of meeting Roxann Dawson in 2003 and talk to her about the episode and the connection it held with me.

I'm not sure what else I can really add to this, but if you want to know anything else about me, just let me know!

Anni

Joined a couple of days ago and just noticed this tread. Looking forward to intriguing debates and insights in the Star Trek Universe. :)

I think I am in the right place to ask...
What is so special in Voyager?

I watched only TOS and TNG before, and I'm thinking about these series.
One day I tried to watch the whole YouTube again, and eventually, came across some Voyager videos. After that I thought that Janeway maybe no less strong captain than Kirk or Picard and I should check it out. Didn't like the ship design very much, but I had the same reaction on Galaxy-class, so it's okay :)
So, what are the series about? I know the main plot, but what is the main idea of episodes? Is it about philosophical reflections, like in TNG, or more about action?

Voyager is the most humourous of Trek series. It has some real comedy moments. The characters are excellent. Doesn't take itself as seriously as TNG and DS9. It is NOT about philosophical reflections and it doesn't try to be. Bit of a romp most times but also contains much excellent Borg.

*wanders in* Just going around, doing the introduction thing :D I adore Voyager, despite its faults, and I not-so-secretly ship Janeway and Seven.

Hello!I last posted here years ago but I spent most of the time lurking (and not doing much),so I'd thought I should introduce myself again.

Voyager has a really special place in my heart despite its faults and wasted potential, because I remember watching Dark Frontier and The Raven as a kid. I love how the senior staff feels like one big family, and can I just say how much I love Janeway,Seven and B'elanna?

Anyway,I hope to have some nice discussions here with you all :)
