Welcome new Voyager fans!

Same here. I started out when I was really young by getting this little information thing that told me all about planets, stars, all that stuff. Then when I got older, I started watching Nova and other sciencey space shows. I often found myself wondering if there really was life outside of our solar system, or even in it. Then Trek came along. It became my all-time favourite show ever. (Although I hate Star Wars :shifty:)

Now, my greatest goal in life is to create such advanced technology as the Holideck, which from the news I have heard is a work-in-progress, as well as the Teleporter. Scientists can teleport small amounts of mass to short distances! I wish to be a part of it all.

So yeah, huge space fan. XD

I agree with you7 there Spock. Does anyone remember the show "Terrahawks" I used to love it as a kid and I am a scientist myself, the hot area of research is NANOTECHNOLOGY or as I call it borgology LOL

That's awesome!

Reminds me of something interesting on the news...very interesting.

Basically, there is now technology that allows us human beings to control computers and computerized mechanisms with our thoughts. (As dorky as this sounds) what you do is plug something into your head--I don't rememver the details--and then use your thoughts to control it. EX: For a computer mouse, you would think something like... "Move left" and the cursor would move left on the screen. I don't know quite how you would do "Click" though...

Someone was even controlling a wheelchair with this technology! They say it might soon be used for false limbs and such.

Personally I found that quite interesting, but maybe that's just me.

I find it interesting too, the "Click" may be moving up and down! :vulcan: I also posted on another forum on the board, that there is new research out on hyposprays, gone will the be days of blood down the arm as in the research paper they use jets

Ah, I would love to say goodbye to those 'old days'.

Trek has quite the influence on reality and technology, doesn't it?

Very nice to see all you new fans in here. :) I haven't stopped by here for a while, but I did notice a new crop posting! You all get Voyager broadcasts now?

Welcome to the board. Logic dictates you will enjoy it here :vulcan:

Hello!
*insert Shakespeare quote* They call me Acacia, those that speak of me.

Voyager is my favorite Trek series, and I get very angry at those who say it isn't very good. VERY angry.

Out of curiosity, can someone explain where the new image for the caption contest is, and how it works? I hardly ever go on forums, and I'm a wee bit confused. :cardie: Also, I adore the Cardassian icon.

^ Welcome to the Voyager forum. I hope you enjoy posting here. :)

I"m not sure if I understand your caption contest question. Are you wondering who posts the images, how to add your own entry...

I believe what most people do is quote the original post containing the picture then add their own caption to that. Those who participate more often in those contests though could probably give you more tips and tricks. :)

Well, I copy-paste the image, then caption it.... It's not all that hard. I was confused at first, too...

And agreed, I get VERY angry at people who say Voyager isn't good.
