@PikeFan: More friendly compared to where? Just curious.

The official Trek boards. I stopped posting in the VOY boards a LONG time ago. The attitude there was if you like Chakotay or J/C you're not allowed to post without being attacked....

Well, I know this place is more friendly than the Subspace Comms. I love the place because of all the nice artwork there, but apparently, my application for membership there was rejected three days ago.:( Fine, their loss, so there! I'll post all of my artwork here, and they'll be missing out!:p
Great, now I probably sound arrogant. Is it ironic that I would still join that forum if they changed their mind(s) (and probably let bygones be bygones)? It wouldn't be so bad if they gave a justification for my rejection, and didn't take a month to get back to me.

@jeskawest and infinix: While I'm here, minus well say "Greetings!"

@Kai "the spy": No offense taken. I have learned a lesson from this anyways. So you live in Germany. Isn't technology great, communicating with people on different parts of the planet?

Yes! Now I can share my confusion with all mankind!

I urge all new members to check out the Redshirts Lounge here. It is a great way to interact with members of similar rank (and time served) aside from topic specific posting. Most Lounges have interesting, fun games to play and get to know one another. Those extra posts also count towards rank (hint, hint).

One question though. How do people choose to become ranked in the different species? Most people here have Federation ranks, but I think I saw a few Cardassian ranks here and there. Thanks.
For the official explanation of ranks, try the FAQ of the QS&F (Questions, Suggestions & Feedback) forum. Short form: One moves up through ranks by virtue of number of posts AND time as a member.

Custom ranks are a benefit of PAID membership, which is $25.00 US annually. Paid members also do not have to see all the ads, either.

I agree with Sector 7 (mind you, who wouldn't with the Rear Admiral rank?!). The red shirts lounge is good fun :)

I've been dying to join a Star Trek forum and now I finally have!

My name is Kyle and I am a HUGE trekker. Next to music, Trek runs my life. DS9 is my favorite show with NextGen as a close second. I don't know a whole lot of Trek fans and the ones I do know don't appreciate the whole franchise like I do.

This is a great place for me to be and I can't wait to start engaging in conversation with some fellow trekkers!

Live Long and Prosper. :vulcan:

Welcome aboard, DS9. Join in the fun that is TrekBBS!

:guffaw::rommie:

P.S.- back when I joined TrekBBS, I would check the Redshirt Lounge and no one had posted for days. I wasn't sure what it was, even thought it was an abandoned thread. I would love to see it now with all the new members being active there!:techman:

It was certainly a lot of fun. I joined these forums in early November and have been in the Captains' Lounge now since earlier this month. That was really quiet now the group of us who were in the reshirts are all getting "promoted" and that's getting a bit crazy now too. I'm not sure what it's currently like in redshirts - hopefully some of the newcomers will keep the noise going!

I've come down from Red Mountain to spread my blight-storms to the Federation.

Mostly though I'm a TNG, VOY, TAS trekster looking forwards to nerding out with you guys.

They so do :D what must they be doing without us?
Hey, girl! I just noticed that you are a Commodore now! Congratulations!!!

If you want a real laugh, look in the Commie Lounge for "Sector 7's Farewell to the Troops" thread. I may be dumb, but I'm cute...:guffaw:OK maybe not cute, but I'm... uh never mind.:alienblush:

Thanks but I can't get into the Commodore Lounge yet - not been a member of trekbbs long enough. I only joined back in November so only made it to the Captains' Lounge last month. Got a while to go before I get to the Commodore Lounge.

When you get there, remember to look it up. Perhaps, if you are better than I am at math, you will know the day you get promoted to the next Lounge. From what I have seen, most are surprised when it happens.

I got promoted a day earlier than I thought! But I'll have a rough idea - I've got about 2 months to go. I think 180 days is the next "promotion" day when I'll get to another lounge.
