Greetings fellow Trek fans. Just joined a few days back out of curiosity and nostalgia….I was on some BBS in the late 90’s and again in the early 2010’s. Don’t recall my screen name but it was undoubtedly related to my adoration of The Captain.

I am a 70’s era fan who found TOS on TV during syndication about 1974. I was 8, so Trek has been part of most of my life. I didn’t find many fellow fans as a kid (maybe being a brainy girl with a smart mouth had something to do with it). Fortunately, my male cousin, two years younger and more like a brother to me, globbed onto my Trek novels and found the show, so I had a childhood Trek pal. I didn’t really understand how big Trek was until TMP and the enormous crowds during opening weekend…..cousin and I were there, waiting for hours at the theater in the mall. Good times.

I was a high school teacher for 15 years before illness put me on disability and after awhile I rediscovered my early Trek joy which for me faded after TNG ended. Yes, I have seen every series and movie, but didn’t love the newer Trek although I was glad it was there.

I look forward to seeing everyone’s thoughts on whatever era of Trek we find ourselves in, but TOS is my true love, with TNG a comfortable second.

Best to all

Hi! I've been lurking here for a little while and decided to make an account.
My first fan spaces were LJ and forums (and later Tumblr). I had a very 'I miss forums, the internet sucks now' moment early this year and decided you can't complain without trying, and Bluesky seems so dull! I was a teenager and into the first JJ film when it came out and got into TOS through that. I recently rewatched TOS again, I'm planning on reading the TOS novels and comics. I think I found this forum while looking for info on the Nacelle figures haha.
I'm also a general fan of fantasy/sci-fi, and anime and superhero comics! I pledge to attempt to be not-annoying!

Whendy.

You sound like me (though I think I'm a little older than you), which is why I keep coming back here. Welcome aboard!

Nice to see other newbies here!. I’ve been following this franchise since the very beginning—back when capturing episodes of the Original Series during its first run meant hovering over a tape recorder to save every word. After decades of exploration, my heart has firmly settled on Deep Space Nine. The political complexity of the Cardassian occupation and the gritty realism of life on a frontier station represent the pinnacle of Trek storytelling for me. Though others have often _loudly_ debated how DS9 fit in the overall Trekkers.
While I’ve spent countless hours mapping out reading odysseys through the Lit-Verse, I still find myself wishing for one thing on-screen: a dedicated Starfleet Corps of Engineers (S.C.E.) series. There is something uniquely compelling about the "duct-tape and prayers" side of the Federation—the engineers who solve the impossible technical hurdles that keep the fleet flying. I’m thrilled to be here.

Hello fellow Trek fans! I've read discussions on the forum before on and off over the years, usually when I had specific questions and wanted to find dependable user-gathered information! Stuff about costumes or Rare Treks and the like! I decided to make an account today after reading a 24 page discussion where I would have loved to add reactions and the like, hehe.

I've always been more of a Doctor Who and Star Wars fan, at least growing up, but I also enjoyed Trek! To really give it the attention I felt it deserved from me, I've been doing a chronological re/watch of the entire franchise and have been having a blast! :3
