Hi, I'm joining this forum because I'm old as crap and feeling overwhelmed and exhausted by infinite doomscrolling. I like talking about Star Trek and this seems like a nice place to escape the beast and just have a conversation about something I enjoy.

I'm a new member of the bbs. I created my account a couple months ago but life got in the way.
My name is Sophia and i'm a younger trekkie. I've wanted to watch the show for years, but only a few months ago did I start. As of writing, I'm nearly finished with Enterprise and TOS, and i also got my sister into it. Her favorites are TOS and Voyager, and my favorites are Enterprise and Voyager, though i am starting TNG soon!
I'm sort of an old fashioned person despite the fact i'm sorta young; i use obscure social media that recreates stuff like MySpace, I like to use styles that make websites look older, I still carry around a flip phone (but i lost it so i have to use my smartphone, which i only use for talking, music/radio, emergency services, and sometimes games) and I watch star trek on live TV. Unlike my sister, I was never one for streaming. If I don't have a consistent schedule, I can't keep up, so that's why I like to watch it live.
As my first foray into the world of trekkies (i love using words that i cant define yet i know how to use in a sentence) I decided to make an account here...i can already tell i'm gonna love it here!

Henlo! I'm Uncle Sock and new to the BBS. Got my username inspiration from the season 3 finale of Strange New Worlds, in case you were wondering. Can't sense incoming earthquakes, though!
In real life, I have been a lifelong Star Trek fan, but sadly never had the chance to meet others to share my hobby with, let alone make friends. My Trek journey started all the way back in the 80s with TNG when I was in my early teen years. Was lucky enough to experience the "golden age" of Trek TV until the 2000s when it was current. Although TNG is the one that started it all for me, DS9 is my favorite.
But I even like Strange New Worlds, which may or may not have a lot to do with Ethan Peck.

I've just registered, so no avatar yet; two weeks to come up with something good.
I live in England and have religiously watched all Star Trek series/seasons broadcast on UK television since the original series was first shown here in 1969 (yup, I'm that old). I've always found watching streamed content annoying, so have not yet seen much after Enterprise, though I have seen season one of Discovery and two seasons of Prodigy as they were shown here on broadcast TV. I have Blu-ray/DVD box sets of the movies and everything up to Enterprise; I'm waiting for the complete box sets of Discovery and Picard to fall in price to something more affordable, when I will start working my way through them.
I also have quite a lot of Star Trek books, mostly second-hand through Amazon, and a complete set of Eaglemoss Starship Collection models, which cost far too much money and take up far too much space, but hey-ho it's done now.
I hope to contribute content which at least some of you find interesting in the near future,
