Hi. I'm an English Star Trek fan that first watched TOS in the early 80's. I saw TNG in the early 90s and at first thought it inferior, but gradually warmed to it and by the time of season 4 and the Borg I was loving it. DS9 and Voyager only confirmed my enjoyment and I appreciated how they expanded the Star Trek universe. Enterprise was fantastic, I thought Scott Bakula was a wonderful captain. I disliked the Kelvin timeline movies, as while they were good action movies they seemed to have lost that unique Star Trek atmosphere.

I find Star Trek Discovery to be an unpleasant and cold experience, lacking the warmth and humour of the Star Trek franchise.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to say that I read the article that's on the Star Trek website about a person that had severe depression and found friends on this website who later basically helped to save him, and I want to tell you how thankful I am for you all being here. I really think that this is one of the friendliest and most welcoming fan bases out there, and I love that we can all come here to talk and make new friends.
So ya, thanks again :)

Hi! Longtime lurker, first-time poster (well, this is my 15th post). I like Star Trek, especially TOS Seasons 1-2 and TVH. I like music and face-to-face gaming (board/card/roleplaying). I recognize some of you from Dragonsfoot, (hey, Ron!), JWFan (I am Pellaeon there), and other places.

Hello fellow members! I am called Fefnir, 25 yo, and I'm a recently converted fan.
I started watching TOS with my girlfriend on Netflix this year. I had never watched anything related to Star Trek before, only knew about it from general pop culture (things like, "there was a character named Spock and makes 'that' gesture with the hand", and "the Enterprise was a ship", and "Klingons") but I got instantly fascinated by it.

I like sci-fi settings and novels, and I'm fond of astronomy and cosmology. I found, despite the overall 'cheesiness', that the plots were very clever and well written, they had a strong scientific theme, and the overall pace and theme of the series was stripped of fancy special effects and explosions in favor of the melodramatic exploration of morality, humanity and feelings. Also the fact that the heroes are a cast of very real, not-heroic-looking people, scientists, engineers... I love it.

I decided to join this forums because I want to expand my knowledge about Star Trek, specially it's technology.
I'm an avid tabletop role-player, and I would want to know more about the ships, and the scientific "facts" that shape its universe.
I had an sneak peek at the Modiphius role-playing game and found it lack of all this kind of content...
So, I will start asking for any recommendations on where to find this info ?

Thank you for reading up to here!
and thanks in advance for the recommendations.

Welcome to Star Trek! I'm so happy you decided to take a closer look at it, and hopefully you find this forum welcoming and helpful. A great place to get information is the memory alpha and beta on the fandom website :)

Hello everyone, first time poster. I was looking for images of Odo in his half liquid state when I found The TrekBBS forums. Every night after dinner my teenage son and I watch 1 or 2 episodes. We've gone through all the series and movies, we are now watching DS9 for the second time around. I found that only after he had seen all the newer series, TNG, DS9, V, E, and D, he could then go back and watch TOS and really appreciate it.
I've had no science education to speak of, but am definitely a lover of anything related to science and our place in the universe. Also a lover of the visual arts, with a concentration on Renaissance, Dutch Golden Age, Trompe l'oeil, Academic, Realism.... I look forward to reading more posts here and joining in the discussions.

Welcome. Thanks for joining. Similar to you and your son, I've restarted to watch more Trek over the last year. I'm watching about 12 episodes per week of all six series. I just received the BluRay Star Trek Discovery S2 (and even my wife is willing to watch it with me :adore: ). Star Trek and the TrekBBS forums have inspired me to take more interest in both science and history even in my older age. :techman:

Hi all. After years of lurking, I finally registered I've been watching Star Trek for a long time. As a kid I would catch the odd episode of TOS and the first film I saw in the theater was TSFS in 1984. But it was 1989 when I really became a fan. That was my first year of college and TNG season 3 was on tv. Since then I've watched every episode of TNG, DS9, VOY, nearly every episode of ENT, as well as all the movies except for Beyond.

My enthusiasm for things Trek has ebbed and flowed over the years, but the new Picard series has piqued my interest. I'm looking forward to seeing what they will do with it as well as catching up on DSC and Short Treks.

Yay! I've officially been a fan for a year now! Gotta say, this is one of the most welcoming fandoms I've been in :)

Hi! I’m MiriMenagerie, i’m new to this forum and new to forums in general, actually. I decided to make it my 2020 goal to watch every episode of Star Trek for the first time... sort of. My dad’s a big Trek fan, so I grew up watching a lot of Star Trek, but I’ve never seen it chronologically and I definitely haven’t every episode. I’m starting with TOS and then moving on to NextGen and so and so forth. I wanted to join a forum to have a place to talk about my experience with the series since my hubby and friends aren’t really into it. Star Trek is powerful, it speaks to the human spirit and I’m really looking forward to exploring it along side some like minded individuals. But, I am very new to this. In fact I’m not sure I’m even posting this correctly since I just hit “reply” to a post and dove in, lol. Pleas feel free to share the ins and outs of how to make the most of this forum with me as well as your love and observation of all things Star Trek. I look forward to getting to know you!
