WEEKEND ESTIMATES FROM ENTDATA

1. THE PROPOSAL - 34.11 million - 34.1 million
2. THE HANGOVER - 26.86 million - 152.9 million
3. UP - 21.34 million - 224.1 million
4. YEAR ONE - 20.20 million - 20.2 million
5. THE TAKING OF PELHAM 1 2 3 - 11.30 million - 43.3 million
6. NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM 2 - 7.30 million - 155.9 million
7. STAR TREK - 4.70 million - 239.4 million
8. LAND OF THE LOST - 3.98 million - 43.7 million
9. IMAGINE THAT - 3.10 million - 11.3 million
10. TERMINATOR SALVATION - 3.07 million - 119.5 million

If this number holds up, it would be a tiny 14% drop from last weekend. This weekend number puts the estimated take of Trek to be $239.4 million. This would put it at #55 on the all-time domestic list. Still in the #7 spot despite two more new films.

I didn't think it would get to $250 million a few weeks ago, but it probably will crawl over that mark in the next month. Up is nipping at Trek's heals, which means that unfortunately Trek's rule as the #1 film of the year will end so :( :).

$250 is still off IMO but still Trek will probably be at 243-244 by the end of next weekend. Star Trek will probably end at like $249.5

Any idea on Oversea's total ? would be nice to hit $125 million.

They'll probably leave it as long as possible to get to $250. That's pretty much what WB did with Superman Returns and $200 million.

Really? They would do that? Does it just sound good or what? :D

Thank you for the list and the tough love. ;)

I think its going to do $250 now, its been in doubt for some time but after this weekends exceptional performance combined with good drops over the previous two weeks I'd say its locked.

2 Mil during the week and 3 on the weekend is likely for next week if TF2 doesn't kill all other Sci-Fi business.

It should get to $250 million now, yeah; depending on how fast it drops theatres, though, it could take until the end of July. I can see it happening in 3 or 4 weekends, though.

so no word on International numbers yet ? Any idea on when we might get them

The estimates say a 24% drop from Saturday to Sunday, whereas last Fathers Day Iron Man dropped just 4% from Saturday to Sunday. I think when the actual numbers are posted Trek will increase about 200k at least.

I'm actually pretty impressed by how well Star Trek has been doing. It has managed to stay on top of much of the big name competition that was released after Trek!

I think Up is going to be number one within the next few weeks or so. Its making a ton of cash in a pretty short amount of time. Does help that 3-D ticket prices are much higher than normal ticket prices though.

Sadly I think Tranformers is gonna come blow the competition away next week. I've already been told its projected to make $75 mil between Wednesday and Thursday alone.

Transformers is going to be huge, yeah.

Were looking at a $150 million between opening day and sunday...and I would say $350 domestic total is most likely though I doubt it will have the WOM to reach $400 million. Oversea's total will probably be bigger this time too.

A bit higher according to SBD--hopefully the Father's Day crowd pushes it even higher.

What a freaking hold, man... closest was Hangover at -18%.

Wouldn't it be even more gravy if Trek dropped only by that much by next weekend?

Star Trek is looking good for $250 million. However, Up will soon take the crown for top May release. The Hangover is turning out to be such a huge hit that it has a shot at $250 million domestic, too.

150? You really think so? Paramount hasn't promoted the movie at all.

Those are numbers I've heard I do know early online sales are huge. Thats lower than the $175 it was initally tracking at.

Does it even have to?

If by not plugging it, it's meant airing the IMAX preview immediately before every Star Trek IMAX showing, then they are not plugging it. I feel like I've already seen the movie.
