Weekend 8 Numbers - Star Trek #8 - $3.6 million - $246.2 million

Its sad Trek got passed by another Pixar crapfest. Pixar films are the most overrated films in Hollywood

The family and little kid advantage always helps these films

QFE. I think there's just a certain romance surrounding pixar films at this point. I haven't seen Up yet, but pixar films never blew my skirt up anyway.

Now, if only Pixar would create a Star Trek movie, even I would be thrilled with it ;). But at least I have John Carter of Mars to look forward to from them, at long, long last ... (okay, Disney, but it's still Andrew Stanton of Pixar spearheading the thing, which is what's important).

Wow - this does sound interesting! And I trust Andrew Stanton to know what he's doing with a story.

I wonder how much ST made for the entire week/weekend in the oversea's market, hopefully we will be close to $130 milion mark.

It's running out of steam overseas, making around $500K over the weekend for a total of $124.1 million.

a pixar STAR TREK?!?!

Teh Awesomest!

it'd make a zillion frickin bucks!!

But it would be kind of silly, don't you think?

Okay this comes from a woman who owns the first series of Gossip Girl on dvd....

no, no, it'd be right up my niece's alley!! my brother and sis-in-law didn't let her watch Trek XI with me, but they'd HAVE to let her watch Pixar Trek. ;)

she's 8, btw.

you think only 8 year olds watch that stuff? think again ;)

this way, we'd get the pixar crowd, the haters, and us.

win-win-win all around... :D

No, I don't think that. I watch it. But it would still be silly. Enjoyable, cool, fun, but silly.... er, like the new film actually only without the hot actors. :D

As some one who pretty much enjoys all the Pixar films, Pixar Trek would be freaking awesome!!

Star Trek may have ended up in the #9 spot this weekend, as NATM2's final number is ahead of Trek's estimate at this point.

Snaps fingers. Shoot!

Still, the trend is a much better hold for Trek than for Museum. Just a matter of there being enough theaters to bring in the audience.

[Data]YES![/Data]

And that's with 400 fewer theaters than Museum.

I sincerely hope they look at these numbers and don't overly erode the count.

Star Trek exits my theater July 1. Hopefully that coincides with the local IMAX bow.

So it outlasted X-Men Origins, Angels & Demons, Terminator: Salvation, Land of the Lost, and now Night at the Museum? Incredible!

Transformers fell a little short of DK's 5-day record, not for lack of Paramount's trying to fudge numbers with their questionable accounting. Although that's probably how it cleared $200 million.

And robbing Star Trek of venues!

:p

I'm talking more about how Paramount changed Tr2's Wednesday number 5 days later in order to make it over $200 million.
