Wednesday (5/27) - $1.81 M - $194.8 M Domestic - #1 Movie of 2009

Regarding NatM: Have the folks at Showbiz Data not seen the ads? It's called Battle of the Smithsonian, not Escape from....

Trek will be the Number 1 film until Transformers opens. It should make the Top 5 of the year.

This is all a setup for a monster gross for the sequel

I'm shocked...SHOCKED I tell you at Dance Flick's failure. I was certain that now was the time to parody a movie that made 91 million...8 years ago.

3500 is still a lot of theaters. It would be interesting to see how it does this weekend.

Considering it only cost $25 million to make, Dance Flick will end up being a modest success. It's also parodying a lot of more recent movies like the Step Up series (Step Up 3-D comes out next year...no joke), Stomp the Yard, High School Musical, more crap, etc.

It's showing at IMAX in London for another few weeks. Pretty much every showing (twice a day) is selling out, and shows no sign of stopping.

Wow. Just think if IMAX venues in New York and L.A. would have remained open... :(

Well, there's always next movie.

And I understand even after this weekend, the movie could remain in theaters 2-3 months? Is that right? I'm not one to track a movie for weeks on end, but my interest in this one is a bit more vested... :)

Probably hit at least $1.50 million on thursday at worst be nice to sneak up to $2 million again. Most likely $4-5 million on friday to pass $200 million and I will say $11/12 million for Weekend total.

Usually if a movie is still in theaters after that long, its on one screen for one showing. Sometimes at the 9:00pm showing (atleast thats how it usually is in my area.)
