Hi. We designed an ecommerce website using a company called Business Catalyst, which offers WYSISYG design elements and hosting for ecommerce. Anyway we desgned a site using it but we don't want to use this service anymore. Still we want to keep the overall layout and design.

How do I download the individual pages of the site so that I could have it on my hard drive? I don't know much about FTP so please hep.
Thanks

No, you can give that software a url/domain name, and tell it to copy the website, and it will download everything it can find, and maintain a working structure that you can browse offline.

There's a firefox plugin that integrates with it, called... flashgot. You may find that useful. That page lists some alternative download managers besides LeechGet.

If you're going to start running the site yourself, familiarity with FTP is rather critical, IMO.

It's not complicated though. All you need is a client like FileZilla, the website domain name, username and password to log in.

Also if the server is running any php or asp scripts to render dynamic content, then you won't be able to grab that with a download manager; you will need an ftp client.

I did it! I was able to connect and down load the pages using FileZilla., and I got all the pages. There is no background color or anyhting, so I don't know how to get that, or how to use the CSS but I'm halfway there!

Thanks again!

You probably already have it, but the pages likely still point to locations on the previous server.
