We just hit syria

^ Still could be bad even without attacking them directly... :(

CBC said:
Russia, which has said chemical weapons were not used in Douma and accused the West of fabrication, reacted swiftly.

"Our warnings have been left unheard," said the Russian ambassador to the U.S in a statement.

"A pre-designed scenario is being implemented," Anatoly Antonov said. "We are being threatened. We warned such actions will not be left without consequences."

What those consequences might be, however, wasn't explained.

I can hope if the ambassador is called to Putin's office, he'll tell him the Russians helped throw the election Donald's way. They have only themselves to blame.
Look forward to posturing and dick waving for a while. Hopefully not much else but nothing good can come with a President that has the emotional reactions of a six year old.

It's hard to see Putin backing down here. Everything about both his domestic power base and his international credibility stems from the perception of strength.

That makes sense, so the question becomes which is the lesser of two evils, a destabilised area with a confused and disparate international involvement or an internally legitimised regime with clear support from superpower allies with a point to prove?

UncleRogi, I've asked you several times before to put more effort into threads you've started, or else you can wind up with a spamming warning. As Ichab said, the bare minimum you should have provided would be a link regarding the subject matter of the thread. If you're tablet somehow prevents you from doing that (which I find dubious) then perhaps you should hold off on starting a thread until you can do so properly. But just posting one word opening posts is not acceptable. If the subject wasn't something of significance I would have shut it down.

To an extent probably, but not consistently by people collectively working towards a common goal. There are always many agendas in play, many levels of influence and competence.

The world is often a muddy place.
