To reiterate, if anyone wishes to send a card or a financial contribution to Mallory's family, please send a private message to me or T'Bonz (better known as T'Boo for the next week two weeks or so).
To start the memories off, I don't think I'll ever forget the MA thread with the title, "What IS wrong with 'asshammer,' Mallory?'"
I had noticed the new smiley earlier today and wondered about it. Man, this is sad news. I remember him talking about his illness a while back. Shame he lost the battle in the end.
He could be loads of fun. One time, he beat me out in some lounge popularity voting thing so I took "Mallory" and made a "Mallard duck" avatar titled duck turd, complete with graphics, removed his av and replaced it with the duck av. He had a good laugh over that.
Mallory was a fair minded level headed fellow with a terrific sense of humor. Especially in light of his illness. He always tried to remain upbeat and looked forward to the future. I'll miss him very much.
This is terrible news.
We were in the same "Class of 2002" as far as TBBS was concerned, and I always felt like he was just the nicest guy with a good heart both here and outside the board. Mallory was a lot of fun, a great and fair mod, and he will be sorely missed.
My most sincere condolences to his family and friends.
Rest in peace, Sir.
I am so sad to hear this. We all act like our online "friends" are not "real" or as important as our real life friends, but I disagree. People in real life can put up as much of a fake identity as someone online - and even carry it on for years, just like online.
The death of a person that I know in real life, but seldom had contact with didn't affect me as much as when I'd read the announcement that Frontline posted over at wordforge.
