Wayman Tisdale has passed on at age 44

I never saw him play in person, but he was fun to watch on TV at least. A smile wider than anything. According to the article above, the man pretty much ruled Oklahoma during his playing days there, as much for his personality as for his talent.

But it's sobering when you see a strong man like this, whittle down at a younger age than you are......

Oh man. I read a story about him recently that he was overcoming having his leg amputated and was getting back into life again.

Sad news.

He is the biggest sports figure from Oklahoma not with the last name of Mantle or Selmon. He will be missed.

I remember Wayman playing. The man was phenomenal. This is a sad, sad day.

Another person from the "good ol' days" of my following the NBA when I was younger passes, and WAY too young.

I remember the guy always smiling when he played for the Pacers. Didn't know he had a music career after basketball...that's pretty cool.
