Hi, everyone. I'm just starting to watch ST: Voyager. I've seen all the other series (excluding TAS. It just doesn't seem... worthwhile). VOY is all I've got left. I hope to be able to add my thoughts to this community about this show. Right now, I'm thinking, though, that DS9 was really the best series of Trek. I just loved all the characters. But that's for the DS9 forum... and probably only because that's the last series I've seen straight through.
So I've seen the first few episodes. I have a few comments and questions:
1. Do the Vidians show up again? (The Phage). Not too many spoilers, please, but will they bother Janeway and Co again?
2. Is Janeway's animal guide really a lizard? Is that important to any plotlines? In the second or third episode, Chakotay was showing Janeway how to meet her animal guide.
3. Do the warp nacelles bend up for a reason? I noticed during one of the warp scenes they bent up before lighting up.
4. I think the Doctor is a fantastic character. He is crusty, but he's not mean. He is commanding, but then he is the senior doctor, and it is his sickbay. He's got lives to sustain.
