I second that. I do have the series on DVD but I would have had a lot less headaches if Enterprise never happened.

Where are they? The purist are saving them back until Paramount and JJ have had their run, then they'll claim that the Temporal Integrity Commission jumped in and reset everything back to the Prime time line.

The idea that the Vulcan genocide made the Federation stronger is highly debatable.

I think there were some good things that came out of Enterprise. The temporal cold war wasn't one of those.

In fact this was a perfect example of how the studio ruined the series and not the writers. It was the studio that demanded a more "futuristic" vision of Enterprise, so they introduced the "temporal cold war" theme.

The coolest thing about Enterprise to me, was the fact that it was antequated, that they didn't have shileds and photon torpedos yet, or a tractor beam.

Remember the many episodes where the Temporal Police came in and cleaned up the mess in the wake of Voyager? Heck, they even tell Janeway that they see her and the ship way too much.

Where were they?

I think that parallel universes come into existence not with every minor set of decisions but when something rather large scale happens. So, when things happened in the movie to set off a very large scale change, a new universe emerged. If it is something small... say a la Year of Hell, then the Temporal Police are there because it changes events in the timeline of that universe as opposed to creating a new one.

So, if it just creates a new universe, the old is still there behaving as it always has been, which means there is no need for help.

That's my take anyway.

Um... No. The Temporal Integrity Commission simply isn't badass; Robau couldn't have founded it.

He could have founded the Temporal Badassness Commission though. But that wouldn't be this commission, or Daniels wouldn't be in it.

Nero went through a blackhole and didn't use Temporal technology or anything to do with chronotons. To the Temporal Headquarters in the future nothing showed up because their sensors are tuned to chronotons and temporal technology not tuned into detecting blackholes.

As far as they are concerned their history books simply say Romulus was destroyed and Spock went missing, their timeline is unaffected and they detect nothing, however Spock and Nero created a new timeline and to the temporal headquarters in that timeline everything is how it should be. To the new timeline Temporal Headquarters they don't detect no time travel either cos Nero comes through a blackhole, so to their history the Kelvin is destroyed and always has been, there's nothing to rectify because it's a new timeline and everything that happens in it is how it should be.

The Temporal Integrity Commission is already taking active steps to repair Nero's meddling. Even now new recruit Jonathan Archer is leaping through time, setting right what once went wrong...each time hoping the next leap is the leap to where his damn beagle is.

Exactly. if there was always someone who could fix crap where would that leave alot of the plotlines even in the original timeline.

What do you mean on vacation?

Its obvious the timecop and timeship are not on vacations. What we see in Abrams's Trek and future movie of his is an alternate version of reality caused by Nero incursion into the past. All this will be completely corrected by the time agents, thus the prime timeline restored, after Abrams era.

On what are you basing that assertion?

"Enterprise" took place in the 2150s. "Star Trek XI" takes place in the 2250s. The "Temporal Integrity Commission" is from the 31st Century. Who's to say that Daniels and the other "time cops" are not actually from the future depicted in this new movie, and they view everything that Nero did as a part of their own history?

Captain Braxton and his 29th Century Starfleet timeships on "Voyager" could be from an entirely different future, as were the Sphere-builders who manipulated the Xindi, and FutureGuy who manipulated the Suliban, and many other factions, each working to preserve their own timeline, not the "correct" timeline.

Daniels and Braxton and FutureGuy and others were all working to preserve their own pasts, but they are not all necessarily from the same future.

What about the Vorgons in "Captain's Holiday," or Captain Kirk in "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home"? They were looking out for their own interests as well. That's what all time travelers do. Some just call themselves "time police" so they feel justified messing around with the timeline, but their goal is always selfish.
