Was the Temporal Integrity Commission/Relativity/Daniels on vacation?

Re: Where was crewmen daniels and the temporal police?

There's already a thread about this.

To me, it seemed logical: If this attack would make the Federation stronger, the Federation's time police would be all for it. Perhaps that would even trigger the Temporal Cold War; seeing as the Federation would preach not to mess with the timeline; all the while making it look as if it's a good thing when they themselves do it.

On the other hand, you do realize those bums only show up when it's needed, right?

Re: Where was crewmen daniels and the temporal police?

Two possible answers:

1. The story takes place in a true alternate reality, not a ruptured timeline.

2. The writers are not as well versed on Trek history as they think they are.

You forgot the obvious 3rd option:
- Everyone realized that the concept of a Time squad of the Federation policing the time line was an incredibly stupid concept, and they decided to just ignore it.

3. Let's make a film that will make more than $10.

They worked so hard to keep the timeline intact from the sphere builders but somehow missed the big ass DANGER DANGER DANGER in the Temporal Observatory when Nero went thru the singularity.

Re: Was the Temporal Integrity Commission on vacation?

It wasn't a danger, it made the Federation stronger.

And yes, they were all on Risa, being entertained. They don't work 356 days a year, you know. Time's too precious for them.

Maybe, maybe not. Hopefully new Spock figures out the whale problem when the probe comes; Maybe Spock prime will leave him some notes. heh

No, they were in Vegas with me last week. I'm not telling you what Daniels did. What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas :shifty:

How exactly?

Even if they were stronger, a change is a change, and the loss of 6 billion lives plus the centuries of new life that would've come afterward is pretty important.

Re: Was the Temporal Integrity Commission on vacation?

I think in FIRST CONTACT the original timeline died. When Jordi told Zephrim the name of the Enterprise it inspired him to name the first warp 5 vessel after the Enterprise E.

It could also be that Archer made a deal with daniels to finally get rid of the Vulcan High Command.

Re: Was the Temporal Integrity Commission on vacation?

One of them read a centuries old book describing M-Theory and quantum branching, and they realized the the entire Temporal Cold War was actually a tremendous waste of time.

Then they sat down, had a cup of tea and realized they shouldn't bother all that much, anyhow. Then entered the golden age of universekind. :D

Re: Was the Temporal Integrity Commission on vacation?

Caption contest!

Indeed! I already submitted my little gem but if someone could photoshop a small image of Nero into one of those "time bubbles" and start a thread that would be awesome.

Re: Was the Temporal Integrity Commission on vacation?

Because we all want to believe Enterprise never happened..
