Was Majel ever in ST XI? (spoilers)

The Jellyfish voice is the one that sounds the least like her to me, but I bet that's her too. The Kelvin and Enterprise computer voices are her. I'd put money on it.

X

To me it sounds like they modified her voice electronically. I could be very wrong, but I think she's the Jellyfish too.

<--Sound engineer. Trust me. The Kelvin and Jellyfish are not her.

But I want them to be her. *stomps foot on ground*

And there is only one 'Computer Voice' listed in the credits, if I'm not mistaken.

They probably are her. I didn't know she did the TOS computer voice till a few years ago. So it's not like she can't disguise her voice some.

I was the same, i went into the advanced preview so excited and hypo i couldnt take everything in. I couldnt pay attention to every detail at once, i was focused on the story and the characters.

My 2nd viewing tomorrow should open a few channels and i may pick up on her voice, but the only discernable one i can think of is the 'Checkov and his troublesome Wubbleyous' scene.

Other than that, i cant really tell.

I tried to keep an ear out for her voice when I watched the movie at the theatre last night but I honestly could not discern it :( I hope on the DVD commentary they will point out where her lines are.

Good, at least it wasn't just me. There's probably a scene of Spock talking the the Computer on the cutting room floor.
"Working."
:(

Listen.

Different cadence, different tone, different timbre.

While I agree that the Kelvin's computer has a different voice, I still think the Enterprise's and the Jellyfish's computers are her.
I was right about the bridge-window too, so I HAVE to be right about this also ;) :D ;) :p

But if they're going to use Majel, why change her voice so it doesn't sound like her? The whole point of getting her in the booth was for continuity and to honor her.

Mhmm... after seeing the film again yesterday (for the sixth time :D) I'm still sure she voiced the Jellyfish computer, the escape-pod computer and, of course, the Enterprise computer. I'm not sure about the Kelvin... but the credits only list one 'Starfleet Computer Voice'...

I honestly don't know how anyone could think the Jellyfish computer was her. It doesn't sound anything like Majel.

The Enterprise computer, however, I recognized right away the first time I heard it. It was obviously her.

The Jellyfish's computer sounds NOTHING like Majel.

Nothing.

How anyone can think otherwise is, well, silly.

The scene with Chekov is obviously her. Majel has a very distinct voice.

Not that I have any special insight or anything, but I just wanted to add my vote that I think Majel was the voice of the Enterprise computer and that was it. The scene with Chekov and possibly the water tube scene. I don't think she did the Jellyfish or the Kelvin voices. If she had done those, both of which were Federation ships or ships using Federation technology, what would have been the point of altering her voice? No, I don't think it was her.

Jellyfish had more of an echo type voice to it so I can see how one wouldn't think it was her. But I'm pretty sure it is. Majel Barrett is the only one credited as computer voices.

She is credited as "Starfleet Computer" but only because she notworthy enough to do it. The other ships' computers could've been uncredited parts.

Its worth pointing out that when you have a sound man as talaneted as Star Wars and Wall-E's Ben Burtt on board its not a stretch to think that her voice was toned up and augmented a little bit in preperation for the movie....especially if she was ill at the time she recorded it.

Ya but how come she sounds like herself in the Chekov scene then? Why only change the sound of her voice in some of the scenes but not all?

I'm still positive that it's only her during the Chekov scene and the water turbine scene.

All other computer voices sound different.
