Was Lore gay?

I see no valid evidence to suggest he was gay. Considering the era in which the episodes were filmed and the (At the time) controversy of introducing a gay character into the show (They had to work carefully around that stuff in both TNG and DS9).... there is support to the idea that he was straight.

But, getting on topic? I don't think Lore was gay. He was a bit off his rocker, but being a malfunctioning android has that effect. Data? Maybe. He pretty much had the Borg queen begging him for sex, just like Bev always was trying to get some from Jean-Luc, and just like his mentor, Data didn't seem to care.

Someone said that Soong had his needs? Well, so did Jean-Luc Picard.

I doubt Lore was gay. Who knows? Maybe Soong didn't make Lore to be as 'fully functional' as Data was, thus leaving him with immense sexual frustration and causing him to eventually flip out. Once deactivated, and Soong having learned from his mistake, he then decides to fit Data with a larger 'package' and better 'how to' knowledge making Data a more 'well balanced' android.

I hear what you're sayin' Rob, but I think JLP was hittin' for the home team. There was Vash and Nella Daren. And for the down time in between there was always old 'lefty' as a fall back. Keep in mind, JLP and Jack Crusher were best friends. Maybe one night the guys were out tossing back a few and Jack let slip that Bev isn't so hot between the sheet. Perhaps that's why JLP never took it to the next level. But it's hard to say for sure. Maybe the gate did swing both ways.

Good point Alrik. And wow, I wish it had turned out that Wesley was Picard's son. It would have made for some great character moments for sure.

It's quite dejecting really. I'm not much of a thread starter, but I started a couple that I thought were fairly legitimate Trek topics/questions, which I obviously end up being wrong about, as they got virtually no responses. I really need to start threads about character's sexual orientation or genitalia to get multiple responses apparently.

I have to admit though, the thread title did catch my attention and give me a chuckle. Can't say it's anything that ever crossed my mind after multiple TNG viewings. I don't think screwing was ever on Lore's mind at all.
