Terry Farrell is a terrible actress and I cheered when Dukat gutted her like a fish. Ezri was much better. It is a pity they didn't cast her as Dax in season two so we could have had six years of Ezri and only one of Jadzzzzzzzzia.

For a party animal Jadzia was kind of stiff with her everyday routine... I guess you could say she was jaded by the experiences of her many lives. I often thought she chose Worf mostly as a challange. Rather than just label her dull I have to go with ...'still waters run deep'.

I just like to think of Jadzia as underdeveloped, but she will always be my favorite character. OTOH, I can't stand Ezri. It would've been nice to see the Dax host to be male again, but oh well.

Totally agree, Jolene Bla and Jeri Ryan had banging bodies I mean banging bodies BANG BANG...anyway, but Farrel was the prettiest and who needs an ssa when you have a face like that. bang bang

Not usually. She could be. But then, Terry Farrell got better as an actress as the series went on.

Jadzia being hot is a subjective opinion. Some don't find her hot at all. But I notice a lot of posters say "Who cares how bad of an actress/character she is, because she's hot!" Being hot is no excuse to put a bad actress/character on the show. DS9 is, aside from Jadzia, a show that bears a much higher standard than putting useless actresses/characters on the show solely due to "hotness". To do that, is to degrade the otherwise outstanding quality of the show.

"In the Pale Moonlight"- The exchange between Sisko & Jadzia is great acting. She mimics the emotions & ideals of a Romulan perfectly.

That was the polar opposite of great acting. Her facial expression, voice, or demeanour do not even change once. She might as well have been a statue. She was not mimicing any emotions, she didn't display any emotions at all during that scene.

That scene is a prime example of why Terry Farrell is a bad actress who played Jadzia terribly. Ah heck, I'm breaking out the pictures. Compare Jadzia playing a diplomat to Weyoun playing as a diplomat. Notice how Jeffrey Combs changes his facial expressions, voice and mannerisms dozens of times during the one scene within a matter of a couple of minutes, whereas Terry Farrell does nothing other than stare blankly at the camera and woodenly monotone her way through the whole scene. This is a stellar demonstration of the difference between a great actor/character, and a bad one. And how the other actors on DS9 are way, way out of Terry Farrell's league.

When are Romulans ever full of expression? Romulans are calculating & cold. They view other non-Romulans as chess pieces on their playing board. Ferrell played a Romulan exactly as she was directed too and according to everything we've learn about them. A discipline actor can play a character emotionless and still get the point across.

Weyoun was the equivalent of a used car salesman. He used expression and mannerisms to lull the other side into a false sense of security all the while he's selling you on a bad deal.

Two different personalities meant for two different reasons.

I also think you're over analyzing others saying Ferrell is hot. You're taking something humorous and believing it's something serious. Especially if you're going as far as believing such a thing degrades a sci-fi show. The hot space/sci-fi babe has always been apart of sci-fi, from Barbarella to Summer Glau on Terminator.

Jadzia was no different in her "Romulan acting" than in any other scene she is ever in in the entire series. She played as a Romulan exactly the same as she plays Jadzia in every single episode. So suddenly it becomes great acting because she happened to finally be in a role that fits her one-note acting? Would Jadzia, as played by Terry Farrell, even have the potential to perform a Weyoun-like role if they put her in one? Nope. The acting talent simply isn't there.

Hot babes do not degrade a SciFi show if their characters are worthwhile. Heck, Leeta on DS9 was a hot babe with a worthwhile character. However, simply being a hot babe does not make a character worthwhile. The problem is Jadzia being a hot babe (not that she is...although she is in some fans' opinions) is the only thing the character has going for it. That's why it's mentioned so very often, it's one of the only positive things that there is to say about Jadzia.

You like her for your reasons & I'll like her for mine.

I've never had a problem with Ferrell or her portrayal of the character.

I remember watching on the DVD about her. She said that on the DS9 cast that she along with Jake were the only ones who didn't have a theatre history. Probably explains it. She was hot but annoying.
