Was ds9 the saddest ending despite the victory? Everyone parting ways? Especially julian and obrien?
it's not really a finale, even though Coto intended it to be the basis for a finale. Berman and Braga writing their "love letter" forced Coto to truncate the finale he wanted to produce, making it more or less an ordinary episode--a great, spectacular episode, but not one that brings finality to the stories, the settings, the characters or their relationships.Enterprise

I believe it's called "These are the interferences of the former craptastic producers, whose 45 minute mission is to shit all over what happened in the past season and hand the show over to some has-beens." I might be one or two words off.I know not of this "love letter" of which you speak.![]()
No, they intended to kill Sisko, but Brooks objected.I actually think they weren't bold enough: it would have been interesting to see someone actually die in the last episode, someone like O'Brien, without an "out" like they gave to sisko. But I guess they learned their lesson after killing off Kirk in Generations.
DS9 is the saddest 'In a good way' ending, but TOS and Enterprise's endings are sad in different ways.
I don't disagree, but in a lot of ways I consider TUC as the TOS ending.
I can understand his reasoning. He was the first African-American captain in Star Trek with his own show and he knew what some people might say if Sisko died so soon after Kassidy got pregnant. Again, I can understand his reasoning. No, they intended to kill Sisko, but Brooks objected.
