Was DS9 anti-Vulcan

So having seen apparently all the episodes with Vulcans I get the feeling DS9's writers obviously didn't like them.

In take me out to the holosuite the Romulan captain-errr I mean Romulan lite Vulcan captain acts like an arrogant jerk then Sisko takes this to the next level of "I got to be a bigger asshole and show this asshole whose boss."

Oh and the maquis episode where the female Vulcan actually tolerates Quark's efforts at flirting/suaving and then can't penetrate Dukat's mind m. Seriously? Just because Dukat has a more disciplined focused mind than most doesn't mean a Vulcan shouldn't be able to see into his mind. When I saw that scene I immediately thought the writers were taking a potshot at Vulcans in general.

It's perhaps worth remembering that "Amok Time," the very first STAR TREK episode to ever feature a Vulcan other than Spock, had T'Pring coolly plotting to get Kirk or Spock killed. And that "Journey to Babel" had Sarek suspected of murder, with even Spock admitting that his father was capable of killing in cold blood if he saw a logical reason to do so, while Amanda recalled how the other Vulcan children scorned Spock for being half-human. And Surak's pacifism gets him killed in "The Savage Curtain."

And need I mention Valeris in THE UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY?

DS9 was hardly the first Trek show or movie to depict the Vulcans in a somewhat less than flattering light.

All true but TOS, Voyager, hell even Enterprise treats the Vulcans as a three dimensional culture and holds them and their customs in high respect

DS9 almost seems like it's saying yeah that iconic species that is what people think of when they think of Trek yeah they suck

All-in-all they're a neurotic lot the Vulcans once you scratch their surface.

They kind of oscillate from being the guys to aim for insofar as self-discipline and rationality is concerned to being these cold, unsympathetic types noone likes.

Sakonna was pretty cool in the early DS9 Maquis two parter when DS9 still had the TNG whiff about it. But then they kinda went with the stiff, deathly look for the Vulcans later on, which is less interesting.

Presumably Vulcan society is quite stratified when it comes to temperament within the boundaries of logic being their way of life.

Solok appeared to be, especially in the last scene of the episode where he says he won't be taunted by humans(okay how silly you taunt the winners).

Come to think of it Sisko also behaves like a fool in the whole episode but that's probably why Solok didn't like him.

I mentioned the Maquis female Vulcan didn't I? It seems that DS9's writers either disliked the concept of Vulcans, thought they were one dimensional, or whatever but whenever their on DS9 their portrayed in the absolute worst way.

But as Voyager demonstrated and Enterprise elucidated Vulcans obviously spend a tremendous amount of time suppressing their emotions, refining blocks that hold them down, purifying themselves of anger, lust, envy, and the rest.

Sure there is bubbling passion, lust, rage, and so on in every Vulcan heart but any Vulcan worth their salt keeps it repressed to the utmost best(and more) of his/her ability.

Yes but you had a horde of Vulcans from the baseball episode. They all looked frigid, deathly. And that assassin looked the same. They made a particular effort to freeze over the Vulcans were they basically had no redeeming qualities. I think it's just clumsiness of course or just to make them look extra-unsympathetic to serve the plot of a serial killer and captain who could wind up Sisko.
